Why Caitlin Clark is Indiana’s ultimate good luck charm, impacting both the Fever and the Pacers

Since Caitlin Clark arrived in Indiana after being drafted by the Fever, everything seems to be going better for both basketball teams in the state. Thanks to Clark, the WNBA could generate up to $1 billion in revenue this season, according to finance expert Ryan Brewer.

Clark was responsible for 26.5% of the WNBA’s economic activity in 2024, encompassing ticket sales, merchandise, and television revenue. The Fever and the league are pocketing millions thanks to her. But why is the WNBA star also considered a good luck charm for the Pacers?

Caitlin Clark celebrates wildly as the Indiana Pacers advance to the finals

Clark holds 7-0 record in Pacers’ playoff run

Clark, who is currently sidelined with a quad injury, has been a regular presence at the Pacers’ NBA playoff home games. She cheered on the team in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals, where Indiana defeated the New York Knicks and booked their spot in the NBA Finals.

That marked Caitlin’s 7-0 streak during the Pacers’ playoff run – every time she attends a game, the Pacers win. Tyrese Haliburton, Pascal Siakam, and company will now face the best team from the regular season and the league’s current MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Pacers fans are hoping to see Clark in the building to get all the luck on their side.

The Pacers will start the NBA Finals on the road in Oklahoma City, then host the Thunder in Games 3 and 4. Tyrese Haliburton, a friend of Clark’s, has been a fundamental part of the Pacers’ return to the NBA Finals-25 years later.

Clark has shown her support for the Pacers since moving to Indiana, and this postseason she labeled the team as “the greatest comeback team I’ve ever seen.” She also showed support for Haliburton’s dad after his return from a league suspension.

Falcons RB Bijan Robinson: I want more ‘explosive’ plays next season

<!--> Bijan Robinson is the heart and soul of the Atlanta Falcons offense, but the star running back wants more. "We're done with 30-yard runs and all that stuff. Now it's time to get those 60 yards, 50 yards. So, I've been doing a lot more explosive drills," Robinson said on Tuesday, according to the Falcons' team website. "I've been doing a lot more running — 100 yards, like sprinting — so we can be prepared for, God willing, when those moments come in all the games." Robinson is coming off a potent 2024 campaign. The then-second-year back rushed for 1,456 yards and 14 touchdowns on 4.8 yards per carry, while also totaling 61 receptions for 431 yards and one score. Robinson ranked second among running backs in both overall grade (92.8) and rushing grade (92.8) and fourth in receiving grade (82.2), […]

Eagles who can benefit from injuries: Jeremiah Trotter Jr. can capitalize on opportunity this summer

Getty Images PHILADELPHIA -- Injuries have been one of the storylines of the Philadelphia Eagles offseason, a small price to pay for winning a Super Bowl championship. 6 big questions for the 2025 NBA Finals and why Thunder will beat Pacers

So … are we really in a new era of NBA playoff outcomes? These next two weeks may tell us emphatically. For the last couple of postseason cycles, I’ve noted that postseason results have diverged from those of the regular season to a much greater degree. Chalky postseasons of yore have given way to teams seeded eighth, fifth and fourth making the last three NBA Finals. A team seeded sixth or lower has made it to the conference finals in each of the last three years (Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat); a team seeded fifth or lower has done it six times in five years.AdvertisementOverall, this postseason is tracking to be another outlier in terms of lower seeds advancing. The team without home-court advantage has already won five series this year (Indiana Pacers twice, Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, New […]
