Depois de altos e baixos na temporada, o Botafogo parece começar a se acertar dentro de campo, engrenando resultados no Brasileirão e seguindo adiante na Copa do Brasil e na Libertadores. Tudo isto com uma contribuição de várias peças do elenco alvinegro
Uma delas Mateo Ponte. O lateral-direito vem ganhando algumas chances nas últimas partidas do Glorioso, mas em posição diferente à que está acostumado a jogar, a lateral-esquerda. Foi pelo lado oposto de sua posição de origem que atuou nas últimas duas partidas botafoguenses na temporada, contra Universidad de Chile e Santos, ambas vitórias
‘Sempre pronto’
Com Renato Paiva mexendo no time e tentando achar formações, a ‘improvisação’ do lateral foi bem vinda para o uruguaio, que disse não se importar tanto com onde joga, mas sim com as chances que vem conseguindo, tendo atuado nesta temporada em 21 partidas pelo Botafogo.
“Sempre estou pronto para jogar, seja a direita ou na esquerda. O foco é ajudar o Botafogo, seja da forma que for. Sempre que o treinador quiser me aciona e me colocar em campo, darei o máximo para poder,, junto com meus companheiros, buscar a vitória”, disse Ponte

Com o Fogão brigando para estar dentro do G-6, e prestes a viajar para os Estados Unidos para a disputa da Copa do Mundo de Clubes, o time ainda terá pela frente compromisso pelo Brasileirão. NWSL approves intra-league loans and increases spending resources for expansion teams
In a rare midseason change to its rules, the NWSL announced authorization for teams to loan players within the league effective immediately. The announcement coincided with guidance on the roster-building mechanisms applicable to the impending launches of Boston Legacy FC and Denver NWSL in 2026.With this change, teams may now loan players to another NWSL club beginning with the upcoming secondary transfer window, which runs from July 1 through August 25. The loans will not impact a player’s annual salary, with part of the negotiation process determining how much of their wages will be covered by the club acquiring the player.
