Texas football star Austin Metcalf’s last post before being killed leaves more questions
American College sport is in mourning after the murder of Texas football star Austin Metcalf, and his final piece of social media activity makes the situation even more heartbreaking. Metcalf was stabbed in the heart and died in his twin brother's arms when he attended a track and field championship at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas on April 2.The alleged killer is 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony, and less than 48 hours before the stabbing took place, Metcalf wrote a post on X that showed he did not expect to die so young."Faith that god got me and my work will pay off," Metcalf said in a post on X.Metcalf was also 17 years old and that social media post has been viewed over 2.5 million times.The two youngsters were both dual-sport athletes and had never met before the April 2 incident.
