On April 2, 2025, a confrontation at the David Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas, ended in tragedy, leaving Austin Metcalf, a 16-year-old student from Frisco Memorial High School, dead after being stabbed in the chest. The altercation began during a track meet between students from Frisco Centennial and Frisco Memorial. Reports suggest that the conflict arose when Karmelo Anthony, a 17-year-old student from Frisco Centennial, was asked to move to a designated area for Memorial students. What started as a verbal disagreement quickly escalated, and during the confrontation, Anthony pulled out a knife and stabbed Metcalf.
