Die Melsunger sind mit dem spanischen Kreisläufer Ruben Marchan (30) klar. Marchan ersetzt Moraes (Spitzname: Samba) fast eins zu eins. Wie der Brasilianer ist der Spanier 2,04 Meter groß, beide sind Rechtshänder, beide haben Erfahrungen in den jeweiligen Nationalmannschaften gesammelt.
Marchan hat in Melsungen bis 2027 unterschrieben. Der Spanier über den aktuell Tabellenzweiten: „Die MT Melsungen hat sich enorm entwickelt. Ich möchte gern Teil dieses Prozesses sein und dazu beitragen, dass der Klub seine Ziele erreicht.“
Die Ziele beim neuen Arbeitgeber hängt Marchan bewusst hoch: Der neue MT-Kreisläufer: „Wie jeder andere will ich mit der Mannschaft um Titel mitspielen. Dafür müssen wir hart und diszipliniert arbeiten.“

Unterdessen laufen bei den Nordhessen die Vorbereitungen auf das nächste Top-Spiel in der Handball-Bundesliga. Freitag (20 Uhr, live bei Dyn/Anzeige) muss der Zweite beim Dritten TSV Hannover-Burgdorf ran.
Der Sieger spricht weiter im Titelkampf mit, der Verlierer kann sich auf das Sichern eines Platzes für die European League konzentrieren. In diesem Wettbewerb haben die Nordhessen diese Saison noch eine weitere Titel-Chance. Sie treffen im Halbfinale beim Final4 in Hamburg (24./25. Mai) auf die SG Flensburg-Handewitt.
