Handball-Bundesligist HSV Hamburg setzt auf der Trainerbank auf Kontinuität! Was SPORT BILD bereits exklusiv berichtete, verkündete der Verein am Abend unmittelbar vor dem Duell in der Daikin Handball-Bundesliga gegen den ThSV Eisenach (19 Uhr, Dyn).

„Wir haben beide nicht lange überlegt und uns war klar, dass wir das hier beim HSV weiterhin machen wollen. Das Umfeld stimmt, unsere Familien sind hier und wir können guten Handball spielen“, sagt Chef-Trainer Jansen, dessen ursprüngliches Papier Ende Juni 2026 ausgelaufen wäre.

Und: „Ich bin schon so lange hier und es macht mir weiterhin viel Spaß. Jetzt kommt noch einmal ein Umbruch und wir wollen uns trotzdem weiterhin Schritt für Schritt immer weiterentwickeln. Aber wir wissen auch, dass es dafür Zeit braucht.“

[–>„Das Vertrauen zwischen uns ist groß, wir ergänzen uns sehr gut. Das merkt auch die Mannschaft“, ergänzt Co-Trainer Lackovic, dessen Kontrakt nach dieser Saison auslief.

Und: „Wenn man die Jahre vorher mitrechnet, von 2008 bis 2014 als Spieler und dann von 2017 bis 2025, dann bin ich 14 Jahre hier. Das ist eine sehr lange Zeit bei einem Verein. Es macht mich stolz, dass ich jetzt schon so lange hier bin und das auch weitermachen darf. Ich freue mich sehr auf die nächsten Jahre. Meine Familie ist hier in Hamburg und deswegen ist der HSV für mich nicht nur ein Verein, sondern mein Verein“, sagt Lackovic, der in seiner Karriere in der Bundesliga neben dem HSV auch für die SG Flensburg-Handewitt und den THW Kiel spielte.

Unter Jansen und Lackovic stieg der HSV von der 3. Liga in die Bundesliga auf, etablierte sich dort und wird auch diese Saison im gesicherten Tabellenmittelfeld abschließen.

Sportdirektor Johannes Bitter (42), der mit Jansen & Lackovic bei HSV Meisterschaft, Champions League und Pokal gewann: „Toto und Lac haben den sportlichen Weg hier bei uns bereitet und mit ihrer Handschrift die Mannschaft geformt und entwickelt. Auch sie selbst haben sich als Trainer immer weiterentwickelt. Wir wollen diesen Weg noch weitergehen und sind der vollen Überzeugung, dass diese Konstellation super zu uns passt.“
