Milton Neves reforçou a grande fase do Palmeiras na Copa Libertadores da América. Pela última rodada da fase de grupos, o Verdão aplicou 6 a 0 no Sporting Cristal no Allianz Parque nesta quarta-feira (29) e encerrou a etapa vencendo todos os seis jogos do Grupo G, com a melhor campanha entre todas as equipes da competição da Conmebol.
Em seu blog no UOL, o colunista procurou avaliar as chances da equipe palmeirense na Copa do Mundo de Clubes da Fifa. Milton Neves demonstrou otimismo com as possibilidades do Alviverde na competição que ocorrerá nos Estados Unidos. A equipe palestrina está no Grupo A, ao lado de Porto, Al-Ahly e Inter Miami. A estreia do time de Abel Ferreira será no dia 15 de junho, contra os portugueses.

Miltão destacou a evolução do Palmeiras depois da derrota para o Corinthians na decisão do estadual. “O time palmeirense cresceu tanto do Paulista para cá que eu já nem duvido que possa surpreender no Mundial que se aproxima”, observou em seu texto opinativo.
O radialista ressaltou o fato dos times europeus estarem em fim de temporada, o que pode favorecer o Palmeiras na briga pelo título da Copa do Mundo de Clubes da Fifa. “Corre até mesmo o risco de voltar dos Estados Unidos com a sua taça ‘para valer’ do torneio!”, exclamou, mencionando a histórica Copa Rio ganha pelo time paulista em 1951.
