In der Folge tauschten sich der Verband und die Bayern aus. Bei einem Treffen in München machte Vorstandsboss Jan-Christian Dreesen (57) laut Klub-Mitteilung deutlich, „dass der kanadische Verband seine Schutzpflichten gegenüber Alphonso Davies nicht vollständig erfüllt“ habe.
Bei den Bayern will man aus diesem Fall lernen und „den Kontakt zu den Nationalverbänden der unter Vertrag stehenden Spieler des FC Bayern vertiefen, um noch eindringlicher auf die Erfüllung von Schutzpflichten in Verletzungsfällen hinzuweisen“.
