Aaron Rodgers’ recent announcement that he has been secretly married for “a couple of months” has reportedly sparked confusion and skepticism within his own family, who question whether the union is legally valid at all.
The moment was revealed when the quarterback was photographed wearing a black ring during his contract signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier in early June, returning to the NFL for the 2025/26 season.
Rodgers flaunts new asset in NFL return
Penning a one-year deal worth $13.65 million, he avoided providing many details publicly, previous comments show he did disclose back in December 2024 that he was in a relationship with a woman named Brittani.
However, the name is unfamiliar to many within his own family, including his brother Jordan Rodgers and sister-in-law JoJo Fletcher – who are now reportedly doubting if he has actually exchanged vows at all.
“Jordan and JoJo didn’t go to the wedding,” an insider told thedailymail.com. “And don’t even know anything really about Brittani.
“What they’ve heard is second-hand from his parents [Ed and Darla Rodgers].”
A source added: “The family is unconvinced the marriage is real.”
No documentation: Is Rodgers legally single?
Further complicating the matter is the lack of any official marriage documentation. Therew was no record of a legal marriage in either the county in Pennsylvania where he is reportedly living or Clark County, Nevada-a frequent location for high-profile weddings.
Officials from both jurisdictions confirmed to thedailymail.com that no such records exist under Rodgers’ name, casting further doubt over his relationship, which, with historic partners, tends to attract widespread media attention.
The absence of any official documentation and the fact that immediate relatives were apparently kept in the dark about the event seemingly doesn’t bode well for the 41-year-old.
However, Rodgers’ strained relationship with his family has been well-documented over the years so it would not come as much of a surprise if he kept them out of the loop.
For example, Jordan, his younger brother who is known for winning Season 12 of The Bachelorette, previously alluded to the disconnect between the NFL star and the rest of the family.
Rodgers has not commented further on the nature of his supposed marriage as the 2025 NFL season approaches. He is set to make his regular-season debut for the Steelers on September 7 in a highly anticipated matchup against his former team, the New York Jets.
Whether or not the quarterback’s union with Brittani is legally recognized remains unknown and will likely stay that way as he turns his focus to chasing down a first Super Bowl ring since the 2010/11 campaign, which he won with the Green Bay Packers.
Can he go all of the way in a tough AFC North division including the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens, as well as the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills in the wider AFC Conference?
