Verdão fará ‘tira-teima’ contra oponente egípcio no torneio da Fifa; encontro mais recente se deu pela semifinal e teve triunfo brasileiro
O Palmeiras encara o Al Ahly nesta quinta-feira (19), às 13h (de Brasília), pela 2ª rodada do Mundial de Clubes tentando encaminhar a classificação às oitavas de final. Os dois times são ‘velhos conhecidos’ de edições recentes do torneio. Do último confronto realizado entre brasileiros e egípcios, o técnico Abel Ferreira e mais oito jogadores são remanescentes e estavam na vitória de 2 a 0, em fevereiro de 2022.
Dos oito nomes, apenas cinco dos 11 titulares permanecem no Verdão passados pouco mais de três anos, com destaque para a linha defensiva: Weverton, Marcos Rocha, Gustavo Gómez e Piquerez, enquanto do meio-campo pra frente, apenas Raphael Veiga se manteve. Marcelo Lomba, Murilo e Mayke ficaram como opções no banco naquela oportunidade. Com a bola rolando, Dudu e Veiga anotaram os tentos da vitória que garantiu o alviverde na decisão do Mundial contra o Chelsea.

Palmeiras deve ter mudanças
Em relação ao time que iniciou o duelo diante do Porto, o técnico Abel Ferreira pode fazer até duas mudanças, ambas voltadas para a linha ofensiva. Paulinho, que entrou bem no jogo passado, é cotado para ficar com a vaga de Maurício. Um pouco mais adiante, Flaco López vai brigar pela titularidade com Vitor Roque.
Sem problemas com desfalques, Abel Ferreira terá força máxima para escalar no jogo que pode ser ‘chave’ para o encaminhamento da classificação rumo ao mata-mata. Se vencer e contar com empate no jogo Porto x Inter Miami, o Verdão fecha a rodada no topo do Grupo A. Em termos matemáticos, o alviverde só depende de si para o avanço. Ou seja, duas vitórias em dois jogos restantes.
Al Ahly perde principal nome do time
Nome de referência no meio-campo do time egípcio, Emam Ashour está fora do Mundial de Clubes, após sofrer uma fratura na clavícula, durante jogo de estreia contra o Inter Miami. Goleador e líder do Al Ahly, ele já passou por procedimento cirúrgico no último final de semana, e ficará de ‘molho’ por algumas semanas, perdendo assim o restante do torneio realizados nos Estados Unidos.
Notabilizado por uma leitura de jogo diferenciada e alto pode de definição, Emam vivenciava o melhor momento da carreira antes da lesão. O atleta de 27 anos figura como o artilheiro do time egípcio na temporada e na liga nacional, com 19 gols anotados e nove assistências. No embate contra o time de Miami, Zizo, de 29 anos, foi o escolhido para ficar no lugar do goleador.
