O comentarista identificado com o Grêmio elogiou o centroavante colorado, mas não o colocou numa primeira prateleira do futebol sul-americano

Enner Valencia foi uma das pautas da edição desta terça-feira (17) do “Debate Raiz”. Ao comentar sobre o momento do camisa 13 do Internacional na temporada, Alex Bagé confessou achar exagerado o alto patamar pelo qual o atacante da seleção equatoriana costuma ser posicionado por torcedores e jornalistas. “A gente tem criticado muito o Valencia e ele merece as críticas”, introduziu o comentarista gremista.

Deste modo, Alex Bagé admitiu que o currículo de Enner Valencia nunca o impressionou. “Eu nunca vi esse Valencia que alguns dos senhores vêem. Eu acho ele um bom jogador, ponto. Eu nunca vi esse maravilhoso atacante, os números dele lá no futebol turco…”, analisou, fazendo referência às marcas que obteve pelo Fenerbahçe antes de desembarcar em Porto Alegre. “Nunca vi esse cara excepcional”, completou.

O jornalista fez uma avaliação negativa sobre a fase de Enner Valencia em 2025. “Obviamente que ele tá em baixa e obviamente que, no Internacional, ele às vezes tropeça na bola”, criticou, ao mesmo tempo em que fez uma analogia com o momento irregular de Roger Machado na temporada.

Durante o debate, o apresentador Leonardo Meneghetti divergiu de Alex Bagé sobre o lugar de Enner Valencia no futebol sul-americano e mundial. Embora tenha concordado que o camisa 13 nunca foi um craque, o jornalista destacou os números do centroavante do Internacional, que marcou seis gols nos dois Mundiais que disputou em 2014 e 2022.

“Nunca foi um jogador extraordinário, um extraclasse. Mas eu vi uma Copa do Mundo de 2022… Ele me encantou ali, ele me surpreendeu. Eu não critico a direção do Inter nem por contratar o Thiago Maia e nem por contratar o Enner Valencia”, pontuou Meneghetti, acrescentando que o atacante do Internacional não está na mesma prateleira do ex-gremista Luis Suárez.

Ainda assim, Leonardo Meneghetti ressaltou os predicados do atacante titular da seleção do Equador, lamentando a oscilação do atleta no Beira-Rio. “Que jogador. Era ligado, com velocidade, com impulsão. Ele fez gol de cabeça, não é um cara muito alto. Ele fez uma baita Copa do Mundo com o Equador, que a gente sabe que é mais difícil. Eu acho que aquilo justifica a contratação dele, mas ele tá mal”, finalizou.

Retorno ao Internacional depois de um mês parado

Após se recuperar de uma lesão muscular na coxa esquerda, Enner Valencia voltou a atuar no empate sem gols entre Peru e Equador na terça-feira passada (10), entrando no segundo tempo no duelo pelas Eliminatórias. Na derrota para o Internacional por 2 a 0 para o Atlético-MG na última quinta (12) pelo Brasileirão, o centroavante também ingressou na etapa final, voltando a defender o time gaúcho depois de se machucar em maio.
