The Florida Panthers have officially joined one of hockey’s most elite clubs – teams that have won back-to-back Stanley Cup championships. After defeating the Edmonton Oilers in the 2025 Stanley Cup Final, the Panthers secured their second consecutive title and added to their growing legacy.
With their 2024 and 2025 victories, the Panthers now have two Stanley Cup championships in franchise history. These are the first and only titles the team has ever won since entering the NHL in the 1993-94 season.

Before this recent run of dominance, Florida had only made one other Stanley Cup Final appearance – in 1996 – where they were swept by the Colorado Avalanche. It took nearly three decades for the franchise to capture its first Cup, but now they’ve claimed two in as many years.
A Historic Achievement
By going back-to-back, the Panthers become the 11th team in NHL history to win consecutive Stanley Cups and the fourth in the last 20 years, joining:
- Tampa Bay Lightning (2020, 2021)
- Pittsburgh Penguins (2016, 2017)
- Los Angeles Kings (2012, 2014 – not consecutive, but two in three years)
Florida’s rise also highlights the growing hockey dominance in the Sunshine State. With the Panthers’ recent triumphs and the Lightning’s success earlier in the decade, Florida-based teams have won four of the last six Stanley Cups.
A New Era in South Florida
The Panthers’ back-to-back titles mark a new golden era for the franchise. Once considered underdogs and perennial playoff outsiders, Florida has quickly transformed into one of the NHL’s powerhouses – with a championship pedigree to prove it.
As the franchise celebrates its second Cup and prepares for another summer of parades and pride, one thing is clear: the Panthers are no longer chasing history – they’re making it.
