Zac Seljaas (27) entwickelte sich in zwei Jahren bei den Fit/One Würzburg Baskets zu einem Aushängeschild der gesamten Liga. Durch seine MVP-reifen Leistungen, aber auch durch seine Persönlichkeit – und natürlich durch seine unverwechselbare Vokuhila-Frise. Schon Seljaas‘ Vertragsverlängerung vor einem Jahr war ein Glücksfall. Jetzt zieht der Mormone mit seiner Frau und den drei Kindern weiter …

Vokuhila-Schock! Zac Seljaas verlässt die Basketball-Bundesliga
Nach dem Halbfinal-Aus in Spiel fünf in Ulm hatte sich Seljaas im Dyn-Interview noch nicht festlegen wollen, als Moderator Sebastian „C-Bas“ Meichsner nach seiner Zukunft fragte. Zeljaas hatte mit Tränen in den Augen geantwortet: „Ich weiß es nicht. Aber wenn es das letzte Spiel war…, weißt du, ich habe mein Herz für Würzburg gegeben. Ich liebe die Stadt, ich liebe die Organisation. Ich werde wirklich sehr emotional, wenn ich darüber zu sehr nachdenke.“
Seljaas hatte mehrere bessere dotierte Angebote vorliegen. Auch von Alba Berlin, wo Seljaas‘ Freund und Glaubens-Bruder Justin Bean (28) unter Vertrag steht. Doch er entschied sich fürs Ausland. Nach Informationen des Portals „Eurohoops“ wechselt Seljaas zum frischgebackenen italienischen Meister Virtus Bologna. Der Euroleage-Vertreter holte gerade durch ein 3:0 in der Final-Serie gegen Brescia den Titel.

Der Abschied von Kapitän und Identifikationsfigur DeAndre Lansdowne (36) bei den Niners Chemnitz traf die Fans völlig unvorbereitet. Schließlich hatte der Musterprofi noch ein Jahr Vertrag. Doch laut „Freie Presse“ war es in der abgelaufenen Saison zum Bruch zwischen Lansdowne und Trainer Rodrigo Pastore (52) gekommen…
Jetzt ist auch amtlich, wohin Lansdowne wechselt. Die Rostock Seawolves bestätigten am Mittwoch die Gerüchte – und gaben ihrem neuen Anführer trotz seines Alters sogar einen „Rentenvertrag“ über zwei Jahre! Sportdirektor Kevin Anstett (33): „Einen Spieler wie DeAndre Lansdowne zu verpflichten, ist ein großer Schritt für uns als Organisation. Überall, wo er war, hat er bewiesen, dass er ein Gewinner ist. Seine Führungsqualitäten und Professionalität werden von all seinen Mitspielern und Trainern anerkannt. MBC holte Koné
Spätestens zum Jahresende hört Martin Geisler (41) nach 17 Jahren als Geschäftsführer des Syntainics MBC auf. Darum ist der Macher dabei, den Sensations-Pokal-Sieger neu aufzustellen. Wichtiger Schritt: Silvano Poropat (54) wird ab August der neue Sportdirektor in Weißenfels. Neben ihm soll ein kaufmännischer Geschäftsführer eingestellt werden.
Der Kroate Poropat kennt den Klub sehr gut, war zwischen 2011 und 2021 mit Unterbrechungen dreimal Cheftrainer. Und ist auch jetzt schon in die Zusammenstellung der neuen Mannschaft eingebunden.
Gemeinsam mit Trainer Marco Ramondino (42) hat er offenbar jetzt auch einen neuen Spielmacher gefunden. Nach Informationen von Transfer-Insider Rupert Fabig („Hamburger Abendblatt“) kommt Bazou Koné (31) aus Würzburg. Offenbar hatte auch sein Ex-Klub, die Veolia Towers, Interesse – in Hamburg wäre er aber nur als Point Guard Nummer drei eingeplant gewesen, in Weißenfels dürfte er in der Hierarchie eine Stufe höher stehen.
