Zdá se, že se historie opakuje. Piloti formule 1 už jedno soukromé promítání filmu absolvovali, ale Verstappen na něm koncem května v Monaku chyběl. Tehdy to bylo proto, že chtěl strávit více času se svou rodinou. Nizozemci a jeho partnerce Kelly Piquetové se na začátku května narodila dcera Lily.
Čas s rodinou je oficiálním důvodem, proč Verstappen zmeškal premiéru v New Yorku a snad je to i pravda, ovšem ne celá. Úřadující čtyřnásobný mistr světa F1 v úterý na belgickém okruhu Spa-Francorchamps testoval pod pseudonymem Franz Hermann vůz specifikace GT3 značky Aston Martin.
„Jedu domů za svou dcerou,“ tvrdil po závodním víkendu v Kanadě Verstappen. „Možná se na film podívám později, až se mi to bude hodit nebo na popud někoho jiného a třeba mě mile překvapí. Upřímně doufám, že film bude mít úspěch a pozitivně ovlivní i formuli 1. Nechci jen, aby mě někdo nutil kamkoliv chodit,“ vysvětloval.
Pro testování zvolil pseudonym Franz Hermann. Ten použil Verstappen podruhé. Už před měsícem pod tímto jménem testoval Ferrari 296 GT3 v severní smyčce závodního okruhu Nürburgring v Německu.
Své krycí jméno později vysvětloval tak, že chtěl takové, které bude zníc co nejvíce německy. V květnu se tímto způsobem snažil zakrýt fakt, že na německé trati jezdí mistr světa formule 1, ale to se mu nepodařilo. Možná i proto, že zajel nový rekord okruhu v kategorii NLS GT3.
Verstappen se nikdy netajil tím, že vytrvalostní závody, jejichž vůz letos podruhé testoval, by ho po konci kariéry v F1 lákaly. Proslýchalo se, že by se svým otcem, bývalým pilotem F1, Josem a Fernandem Alonsem mohl utvořit tým pro 24hodinový závod v Le Mans. Prozatím byly ale takové spekulace odloženy a Nizozemec se dále věnuje kariéře ve formuli 1.
Do dalšího závodu královny motorsportu nastoupí 29. června na domácí trati Red Bullu v Rakousku, kde se pokusí o třetí vítězství v sezoně.

Letošní sezona seriálu formule 1 začala 16. března Velkou cenou Austrálie a končí 7. prosince v Abú Zabí. Titul mezi jezdci obhajuje Nizozemec Max Verstappen z Red Bullu a mezi stájemi britský McLaren.
