Inter Miami vence Porto na 1ª derrota de europeu para clube de outro continente em Mundiais desde 2012

A invencibilidade europeia para clubes de outros continentes caiu depois de 13 anos. E o responsável pelo feito foi o Inter Miami. O clube de Lionel Messi venceu o Porto, de virada, por 2 a 1, pela Copa do Mundo de Clubes. Foi o primeiro tropeço de uma equipe do velho continente neste tipo de confronto desde a derrota do Chelsea para o Corinthians, na final do Mundial de 2012.

Desde então, os europeus enfrentaram os times de outros continentes 33 vezes em competições organizadas pela Fifa. Foram 23 vitórias consecutivas no antigo Mundial de clubes e na primeira edição da Copa Intercontinental, no ano passado. No novo torneio que está em curso, já haviam sido 10 confrontos do tipo (sem contar o duelo PSG x Atlético de Madrid), com cinco triunfos e cinco empates. Até a derrota do Porto para o Inter Miami, nesta quinta.

Este resultado também deixou o time português em situação complicada no Grupo A da Copa de Clubes. O clube é o 3º colocado, com apenas um ponto. Palmeiras e Inter Miami somam quatro, mas o time brasileiro ocupa a liderança pela vantagem no saldo de gols (dois contra um).

Pela última rodada, na segunda-feira, Palmeiras e Inter Miami se enfrentam em jogo que vale o primeiro lugar do grupo. Um empate classifica os dois e elimina o Porto. Aos portugueses, resta superar o Al Ahly, do Egito e torcer por um vencedor no confronto entre os dois concorrentes. Nesta combinação de resultados, o time europeu precisa superar o saldo do derrotado no duelo entre brasileiros e americanos.

Jogo de baixo nível técnico

A ameaça de eliminação precoce é condizente com a atuação do Porto no torneio até agora. Após correr riscos no empate sem gols com o Palmeiras, o clube português voltou a apresentar um futebol pouco convincente diante do Inter Miami.

No primeiro tempo, os portugueses até foram superiores e não demoraram a chegar ao primeiro gol, marcado por Samu, de pênalti, aos 8 minutos. As fragilidades do sistema defensivo do Inter Miami eram gritantes, mas, com uma intensidade muito baixa, o Porto não conseguiu criar outra grande chance até o intervalo. Acabaria pagando pelo preço.

Na etapa final, o técnico Mascherano corrigiu os erros mais gritantes, e o Inter passou a ameaçar mais. E não precisou nem de dez minutos para construir a vitória.

O gol de empate, aos 2, mostra a precariedade do sistema defensivo do time português. O Inter chegou a ele numa jogada que passou por vários pés sem nenhum deles ter sido o de Messi. No cruzamento de Weigandt pela direita, havia oito atletas do clube europeu dentro da área contra apenas dois do adversário. E, ainda assim, a bola sobrou para Segovia concluir sem nenhuma marcação.

Sete minutos depois, Messi entrou em cena para resolver a partida. O argentino foi derrubado na altura da meia-lua. Falta que ele mesmo cobrou com a categoria de sempre.

Vale destacar que Inter Miami e Porto se destacaram mais pelo baixo nível técnico do futebol jogado. Ambos se apresentaram num ritmo muito lento, em diversos momentos sem a compactação que já se tornou regra no futebol de alto nível e com muitos erros de ambos os lados. Um cenário simbólico para a queda da invencibilidade europeia.
