O treinador alvinegro recebeu uma proposta para treinar a seleção do Chile e o jornalista especializado no mercado da bola detalhou as tratativas
Uma notícia divulgada ontem (19) chamou a atenção dos torcedores do Atlético-MG. De acordo com o setorista Fred Augusto, o técnico Cuca teria recebido uma proposta para assumir a seleção chilena. Eliminado da próxima Copa do Mundo com duas rodadas de antecipação nas Eliminatórias, o Chile demitiu recentemente o argentino Ricardo Gareca, ex-Palmeiras.
A oferta ao treinador do Galo seria de R$ 5 milhões por mês, num salário similar ao que Carlo Ancelotti recebe da CBF para dirigir a seleção brasileira. Jorge Nicola revelou ter consultado Cuca na manhã de hoje (20), questionando se houve algum contato dos chilenos. Porém, o técnico negou qualquer tipo de conversa.
“O Cuca garantiu que ninguém da Federação Chilena o procurou e que desde que ele voltou ao Galo não foi consultado por qualquer outro clube ou seleção”, esclareceu o jornalista especializado no mercado da bola, em seu canal no YouTube.
Cuca voltou ao Atlético-MG em janeiro
Campeão da Libertadores pelo Galo em 2013, Cuca retornou em janeiro para iniciar a sua quarta passagem pelo clube mineiro. O treinador substituiu o argentino Gabriel Milito, depois da frustrações com os vices na Copa do Brasil para o Flamengo e na Libertadores ao perder para o Botafogo.
Na atual temporada, Cuca conquistou o hexacampeonato mineiro. Na Copa do Brasil, a equipe irá reencontrar o time da Gávea nas oitavas de final. Já pela Copa Sul-Americana, terá pela frente o Atlético Bucaramanga, da Colômbia, pelos playoffs. No Brasileirão Série A, é o sétimo colocado com 20 pontos, a quatro do líder Flamengo.
Chile não irá para Copa do Mundo pela terceira vez seguida
Depois de ser desclassificado pelo Brasil nos pênaltis nas oitavas de final da Copa do Mundo de 2014 e do vice-campeonato na Copa das Confederações de 2017, o Chile não obteve mais êxito no futebol. Na lanterna das Eliminatórias sul-americanas com apenas 10 pontos em 16 jogos, será o terceiro Mundial consecutivo que o país não disputará, depois de ficar fora em 2018 e 2022.
Bicampeão da Copa América em 2015 e 2016 sob o comando de Jorge Sampaoli e Juan Antonio Pizzi respectivamente, o Chile não conseguiu renovar a safra de ouro que é considerada a melhor de sua história, formada por jogadores como Alexis Sánchez, Eduardo Vargas, Charles Aránguiz, Arturo Vidal.
