Veja o que a organização da Maratona do Rio falou sobre a falta de medalhas na prova dos 5 km: “Sabemos que é frustrante”

O que mais se falou sobre o primeiro dia de provas da Maratona do Rio, nesta quinta-feira, não foi a surpresa da Adidas, que riscou suas três listras no céu com a Esquadrilha da Fumaça. E sim, a falta de medalhas para os corredores dos 5 km. Vários vídeos nas redes socias mostram a confusão na dispersão, enorme fila de corredores tentando receber seu prêmio, e muitas reclamações. Teve gente que saiu de lá com medalha de 10 km, ou seja, de outra prova.

Cerca de 8 mil pessoas estavam inscritas para a prova de 5 km, que aconteceu nesta quinta-feira. A menor quantidade dentre as quatro distâncias do evento. Nesta sexta-feira, a prova foi de 10 km, com 12 mil inscritos.

A personal trainer Anna Drummond filmou a fila ao final da prova e disse que sua cunhada ganhou a medalha de 10 km, sendo que correu 5 km.

— Fui apenas acompanhar os meus atletas da minha equipe de assessoria. Não corri ainda, estou inscrita nos 21km. Acompanhei a largada e depois fiquei na grade para ver a chegada dos atletas, e aí presenciei isso. Estava aguardando a minha última atleta da equipe chegar, que é a minha cunhada, e vi o tumulto na entrega das medalhas, que tinha acabado e havia muitos ainda pra receber — explica ela. — Essa turma que ficou sem medalha são os iniciantes, que correm e caminham durante o percurso. Ou correm mais lento.

Segundo a organização, corredores de outras distâncias e corredores com número de peito falsificado pegaram medalhas na dispersão e deixaram os corredores que pagaram para esta distância sem o prêmio:

— A gente teve muita gente que ia correr outras provas, como os 10 km e os 21km que resolveram correr a de 5 km. E também teve muita gente com número de peito falsificado. E quando você chega para pegar a medalha, na bancada, é difícil controlar. Mesmo dando o ticket — explica Claudio Romano, vice-presidente de marketing e negócios da Dream Factory, organizadora da prova com a Spiridon. — No final, a responsabilidade sempre é nossa. Então, a gente vai melhorar para o ano que vem e uma das ideias é ter o numero de peito de uma cor específica por prova. Aí fica mais fácil identificar de longe quem não segue a regra. Outra mudança que vamos fazer para o ano que vem é ter muito mais medalha de quebra.

Ele explicou que foram detectados “vários casos” de corredores de outras provas trocando a distância e que isso foi possível por causa do controle do chip. Cada corredor tem um chip acoplado em seu número de peito. Assim, seus dados ficam registrados na prova pela qual pagou. Além disso, o GLOBO presenciou atletas da pipoca, os que não pagam para correr, pegando medalha na prova de 10 km, nesta sexta-feira. Seguranças tiveram que correr atrás destas pessoas.

É que o controle para a entrada nas largadas dos 5 km não funcionou na quinta-feira — nesta sexta-feira, para os 10 km, as entradas tiveram mais fiscalização.

Esse controle ocorre para que as pessoas larguem em ondas, de acordo com o pace (informado no ato da inscrição). No caso dos 5 km, eram seis largadas, diferenciadas por cores. E o que se viu foram corredores largando onde queriam, tudo misturado e sem controle de quem de fato era daquela corrida.

— Nos 5km, as ondas funcionaram mesmo que misturando os corredores de paces diferentes. Todos correram bem e a prova fluiu bem — disse Cláudio, admitindo que não houve respeito às cores de largada.

Claudio disse que o evento confeccionou 20% a mais de medalhas por prova, quantidade considerada adequada por ele. Mas, admitiu que a organização não esperava por esta situação. Disse ainda que, “quanto mais uma prova se torna desejada, hypada”, mais este tipo de comportamento pode acontecer.

— A gente faz 20% a mais, o que é bastante. Mas, no final, independentemente se as pessoas não são educadas e não respeitam, correm uma prova diferente ou falsificam número de peito, a gente não pode penalizar quem pagou e quem correu. Cabe a gente, como organizador, intensificar isso. No final das contas, tem de ter mais medalha porque as pessoas não podem ficar sem, é frustrante. A gente sabe que é frustrante terminar a prova e não ganhar a medalha na hora. Sem dúvida, ficamos muito tristes.

Ele garantiu que “todo mundo vai receber a medalha”. A organização divulgou comunicado na noite de quinta-feira lamentando a situação, se desculpando com os corredores e informando que quem ficou sem medalha receberá o prêmio em sua casa. É preciso mandar e-mail para contato@maratonadorio.com.br. Até o momento, segundo ele, os sem-medalha são cerca de 230 corredores.
