Por recomendação médica, ele foi poupado das atividades, em meio às altas temperaturas registradas em Miami.
Na estreia do Mundial de Clubes, o Real Madrid empatou em 1 a 1 com o Al-Hilal e ocupa a segunda colocação do Grupo H — atrás do RB Salzburg, que venceu o Pachuca na estreia. O duelo com o time mexicano é crucial para a equipe se aproximar da classificação para as oitavas de final, e está marcado para às 16h (de Brasília) do domingo, no Estádio Bank of America, na Carolina do Norte.
