Startovat se bude v sobotu v poledne na pražském Strahově a pak se peloton vydá směrem na Křivoklátsko. Nejdelší trasa měří 139 kilometrů, prostřední 97 a nejkratší 66 kilometrů.
„Budeme naposledy začínat na Strahově a směřovat na Křivoklátsko, protože příští rok je v plánu rekonstrukce okolí Strahova. Na druhou stranu letos je na řadě úseků nový asfalt a třeba sprinterský segment u Žiliny na Kladensku se otevírá těsně před závodem,“ říká šéf L’Etape Přemysl Novák.
Mezi startujícími pátého ročníku jsou i zajímavá jména. Ambasadorem je zmíněný Bradley Wiggins, jenž pojede nejdelší trasu. „Dokazuje to, jakou prestiž si celá akce získala i ve světě. V minulosti jeli závod Andy Schleck či Alberto Contador. Oba byli nadšení. Mezi cyklisty se tyhle zprávy šíří. Řeknou si, jak vše funguje. L’Etape Czech Republic představuje značku, která má váhu. Sám se nemohu dočkat, až budu znovu na startu,“ uvedl bývalý reprezentant Zdeněk Štybar, který pojede se svým tatínkem krátkou trasu.
V sedle bude i hokejista Milan Gulaš či hvězdný Petr Čech. „Trénoval na trenažéru a může zajet skvělý čas,“ míní Přemysl Novák. Na střední trase se potká i s jedním účastníkem druhé série Extrémních proměn, který pojede v rámci svého redukčního procesu.
