A Federação Alemã de Futebol (DFB) foi condenada nesta quarta-feira ao pagamento de uma multa de 130 mil euros (cerca de R$ 830 mil, na cotação atual) por um caso de fraude fiscal relacionado à organização da Copa do Mundo de 2006, realizada em território alemão.
Segundo declarou uma juíza do tribunal de Frankfurt (oeste da Alemanha) durante a leitura da sentença, os antigos dirigentes da federação “fraudaram deliberadamente o fisco, disso não há dúvida”.
O Ministério Público havia solicitado uma multa duas vezes maior, de 270 mil euros (R$ 1,7 milhão).
O processo, iniciado em março de 2024, gira em torno do pagamento de 6,7 milhões de euros (R$ 42 milhões, na cotação atual) a um comitê responsável pela organização do torneio, sob o pretexto de cobrir os custos de uma suposta gala que jamais aconteceu — e, portanto, não poderia ser dedutível de impostos.
De acordo com o tribunal, o valor de 6,7 milhões teria sido usado pelo então presidente da Copa de 2006, o lendário ex-jogador Franz Beckenbauer, falecido em janeiro de 2024. O valor serviria para corromper membros da comissão financeira da FIFA, com o objetivo de garantir uma subvenção de 170 milhões de euros da entidade máxima do futebol.
Após o escândalo, a DFB perdeu o status de entidade de utilidade pública.
“A DFB não pode se dar ao luxo de tudo, mesmo que o futebol seja o esporte favorito dos alemães”, frisou a juíza, afirmando que a imagem da federação ficou “manchada”.
Segundo a juíza Eva-Marie Distler, os dirigentes da DFB “realizaram pagamentos não declarados e sustentaram o sistema corrupto da FIFA”.
As acusações contra três ex-dirigentes da federação — Theo Zwanziger, Wolfgang Niersbach e Horst Schmidt — foram retiradas mediante o pagamento de multas individuais entre 10 mil e 65 mil euros.
