Bastos em jogo da Libertadores (Vítor Silva – Divulgação – Botafogo)
O Botafogo confirmou na manhã desta quarta-feira (25) mais um importante desfalque para a sequência da disputa da Copa do Mundo de Clubes da Fifa. O zagueiro Bastos terá que deixar a delegação alvinegra nos Estados Unidos e voltará ao Brasil para tratar uma lesão sofrida no joelho esquerdo. Inicialmente, o atleta angolano não passará por cirurgia no local.
Além do defensor, o Fogão também não poderá contar com o meio-campista Gregore no confronto com o Palmeiras neste sábado (28), às 13h (horário de Brasília), em duelo das oitavas de final do Mundial de Clubes. O atleta terá que cumprir suspensão automática pelo acúmulo de dois cartões amarelos ao longo da competição internacional.
O lateral-direito Vitinho, por sua vez, está confirmado na partida. Na derrota contra o Atlético de Madrid, o atleta deixou o campo com dores no músculo posterior da coxa direita, mas, nesta quarta-feira (25), treinou normalmente com os demais companheiros do elenco na primeira atividade do time no CT do Eagles, na Filadélfia, local da partida contra o Palmeiras.

Além da tão desejada classificação para as quartas de final da Copa do Mundo de Clubes da Fifa, o duelo Palmeiras x Botafogo no próximo sábado, na Filadélfia, terá ainda outro ingrediente muito valioso para os dois clubes: a premiação milionária para quem avançar.
Quem se classificar, embolsa US$ 13,125 milhões de dólares (R$ 71,9 milhões na cotação atual), ou seja, vai conseguir quase o mesmo prêmio que o campeão da Copa do Brasil deste ano vai receber: R$ 77 milhões. A competição nacional é mais vantajosa para os times em relação ao retorno financeiro no país – o Brasileirão paga cerca de R$ 44 milhões.
