A lista dos maiores salários da NFL é dominada por quarterbacks, com nove atletas dessa posição ocupando o top-10. Melhor jogador da geração, o tricampeão Patrick Mahomes não está no topo e foi superado por Jared Goff, do Detroit Lions.
A grande surpresa da lista é o tight end Travis Kelce, parceiro de Mahomes no Kansas City Chiefs. Ele é o único “não QB” do ranking e é o responsável por não permitir uma unanimidade; confira a lista com os valores anuais:

A lista acima foi feita pela tradicional revista Forbes, dos Estados Unidos. Esses valores correspondem aos recebimentos de 2024 e uma nova atualização será feita em breve. Aaron Rodgers, por exemplo, fechou com o Pittsburgh Steelers e já não está mais no New York Jets, enquanto Russell Wilson se tornou atleta do New York Giants.
Portanto, uma outra mudança acontecerá quando o ranking for atualizado: Dak Prescott será o primeiro. Ele renovou com o Dallas Cowboys por quatro anos, tem salário anual de US$ 86,3 milhões e possui o maior contrato da história da liga, acima de Goff e Mahomes, sendo US$ 240 milhões no total (mais de 1,3 bilhão em reais).

Sobre Travis Kelce, a popularidade transcende as quatro linhas. Além de ser o melhor jogador de sua posição e fazer parte de um time vencedor, ele começou um relacionamento com a cantora Taylor Swift em 2023, fato que aumentou ainda mais sua fama extracampo.
Estima-se que Kelce recebeu em 2024 US$ 35 milhões (mais de R$ 200 milhões) em patrocínios, contratos e investimentos. Esse valor é absurdo, pois ele se tornou o segundo jogador de futebol americano a faturar mais dessa forma nos últimos 15 anos, atrás apenas do astro Tom Brady.
