Lesão de Paulinho: Abel revela que atacante passará por nova cirurgia na perna

Autor do gol da vitória por 1 a 0 do Palmeiras sobre o Botafogo, que deu ao alviverde a classificação às quartas de final da Copa do Mundo de Clubes, o atacante Paulinho passará por nova cirurgia quando voltar ao Brasil. Foi o que revelou o técnico Abel Ferreira em entrevista coletiva após a partida.

— Foi para isso que nós o trouxemos, sabíamos que não podíamos contar com ele mais que 30 minutos e todos sabem o que vai acontecer depois que acabar este mundial. Ele vai ter que ser operado novamente

Paulinho ficou em campo por 42 minutos na partida. Ele entrou aos 18 do segundo tempo, no lugar de Vitor Roque, e deixou o campo aos 10 do primeiro tempo da prorrogação, para a entrada do zagueiro Micael. Ele pediu para deixar a partida.

— Vou ser muito sincero o que é que eu lhe disse. Foi para isso que ele veio. Jogar 15 minutos e resolver — complementou Abel.

Paulinho tem um problema complexo na canela direita. Ainda quando atuava pelo Atlético-MG, ele sofreu uma fratura por estresse (impacto repetido) na tíbia, osso do local.

Em dezembro, o jogador passou por cirurgia assim que se juntou ao alviverde. Passou quatro meses se recuperando e se fez sua estreia em abril, em clássico com o Corinthians, na terceira rodada do Brasileirão. Desde então, são 15 jogos, nenhum deles completando os 90 minutos. As dores na região persistem afligindo o jogador.
