Weverton, dono de uma história gloriosa no Palmeiras, acabou ocupando o ingrato posto de “vilão” diante do Chelsea. Vencido por Cole Palmer em um chute indefensável, o camisa 21 não conseguiu impedir o segundo gol dos Blues, situação que determinou o fim da participação do clube paulista no Mundial.

“A gente não começou o jogo bem, estávamos um pouco tensos. Demoramos a entrar no jogo, sofremos o primeiro gol… óbvio que dá um pouco de abatimento. O Abel arrumou o time no segundo tempo e voltamos com uma nova atitude. Conseguimos empatar. Acredito que no melhor momento, tomamos o segundo gol. Isso é futebol. Ficamos com aquele gostinho de que poderíamos ter uma sorte melhor, mas temos que valorizar o esforço desde o início da competição.”, externou Weverton à CazéTV.
