Dentre os diversos processos que o Atlético-MG vem passando nos últimos meses, um deles tem passado pelas categorias de base. O clube vivencia neste quesito uma reformulação tanto dentro de campo, com mudanças no elenco, como para melhorar as estruturas para as equipes poderem trabalhar.
Um dos grandes pontos tem sido as alterações no elenco. Vários atletas foram liberados da equipe sub-20 e os dirigentes do Galo tem feito esforços para que a equipe possa ter atletas aos quais estejam dentro do perfil desejado para munir o elenco profissional nesta e nas próximas temporadas. Isto passa pela estratégia de observar jogadores no mercado.
Galo mais ‘agressivo’ na base
Gerente-geral da base atleticana, Luiz Carlos de Azevedo falou à Rádio Itatiaia sobre como está sendo este trabalho de reformulação da base. O dirigente afirmou que o clube, para cumprir com o objetivo de melhorar ainda mais seus níveis de formação, terá que ter ‘agressividade’ para poder sondar e trazer os jogadores que encaixem naquilo que a equipe tem mirado.
“Dentro do sub-20 do Atlético-MG, 11 atletas já saíram desde a nossa chegada. Eram atletas que a gente não via a perspectiva para o futebol profissional. Naturalmente, a gente entende que vamos precisar ser mais agressividade na captação. Vamos precisar ter uma mentalidade à altura da grandeza do clube”, disse Azevedo.
Melhorias e acertos
Azevedo tem se reunido com um dos empresários donos da SAF do Atlético-MG, Rafael Menin, e o Chief Sports Officer (CSO) Paulo Bracks, para definir os planos e metas para as categorias de base. Em relação às estruturas, os dirigentes do Galo já tem ações com reformas nos campos e academia destinados aos times. Estes aliados à investimentos em captação de atletas, cujo perfil já está traçado.
O desejo do clube é de que o clube possa ter capacidade de formar atletas que estejam mais ‘alinhados’ com as demandas dentro de campo, com a possibilidade de aproveitamento por parte de Cuca e também nas perspectivas de mercado para estes atletas. Com isso, argumenta Azevedo, haverá uma ‘conexão’ mais aprimorada entre os níveis de formação e o elenco principal.
“A gente vê hoje o futebol do Atlético-MG em uma prateleira alta. Então, não é simples transitar. Mas vemos o futebol profissional muito receptivo à base. O Cuca e a comissão técnica já acompanharam mais de três jogos do sub-20. O Bracks e o Victor (Bagy, diretor de futebol) sempre estão ali. A gente tem reuniões com o Paulo Bracks. Há um alinhamento de pensamento muito grande”, comentou.
