João Pedro, logo no primeiro jogo como titular no Chelsea, assumiu o posto de protagonista justamente contra o clube em que foi formado. Carrasco do Fluminense nas semifinais do Mundial, o camisa 20, ao anotar dois belos gols, garantiu o time inglês na decisão do torneio. Neste cenário, a transferência de R$ 415 milhões pode alavancar de vez a carreira do jogador de 23 anos.
Presente na transmissão da Globo, Caio Ribeiro vê João Pedro com potencial de ganhar a confiança de Carlo Ancelotti. Levando em conta que o posto de camisa 9 da seleção segue vago, a consolidação em um dos gigantes do futebol europeu tem chances de garantir uma vantagem na disputa.

Em 2025, João Pedro, ainda com Dorival Júnior, foi titular em Brasil x Colômbia, pelas Eliminatórias, mas não causou o impacto esperado em campo. Sem descartar o atacante do Chelsea, Roger Flores considera que, ao fornecer outras oportunidades, Carlo Ancelotti vai contar com uma grande opção para o setor ofensivo.
“A função está aberta. Ninguém abraçou essa camisa 9. O (Matheus) Cunha foi muito bem contra o Paraguai, em São Paulo, mas ele merece uma oportunidade. Tiveram outros com muitas oportunidades mais que o João Pedro, por que não dar mais uma para ele?”, externou Roger Flores.

Alvo de um grande investimento, João Pedro mostrou que pode fazer jus ao valor com gols e títulos conquistados. Ciente da concorrência pesada, o ex-jogador do Fluminense sabe que, ao assumir o posto de goleador do Chelsea, Ancelotti deve olhar com mais atenção o desempenho antes da Copa do Mundo.
“Acredito que a minha vinda para o Chelsea tem muito a ver com isso, porque vou estar disputando os melhores campeonatos, vou estar num clube melhor, num time melhor, num time que briga para ganhar o campeonato. Para você ter uma sequência na seleção, você tem que ser visto. E claro que foi uma das coisas que me fez vir para cá. Eu acredito que está sendo um grande começo e tem muita coisa ainda para vir pela frente.”, indicou.
