Depois do hiato de um mês, o Brasileirão está de volta. A partir deste sábado (12), a competição nacional que carrega consigo a fama de ser uma das ligas mais equilibradas e imprevisíveis do mundo terá bola rolando novamente, antes mesmo do último jogo do Mundial de Clubes. E a 13ª rodada reserva fortes emoções, com o líder Flamengo em ação e a briga no outro extremo da tabela com o Internacional tentando deixar o Z4 em choque direto.
Na corrida pelo título, os rubro-negros, que avançaram até às oitavas do Mundial, encaram o São Paulo, no Maracanã, no primeiro jogo sem o meio-campista Gerson, negociado com o Zenit, após o pagamento da multa rescisória. Enquanto o Flamengo é líder, com 24 pontos, e um jogo a menos em relação à maioria, o Tricolor do Morumbi aparece próximo à degola, com 12 tentos, na 14ª posição. O confronto marca a reestreia de Hernán Crespo no comando técnico dos paulistas.
Ainda no Rio de Janeiro, mas no domingo (13), Vasco e Botafogo fazem o clássico da rodada que vale briga por aproximação junto ao pelotão principal. O Cruz-maltino tem 13 pontos e precisa do triunfo para dar um respirada visando fugir do setor perigoso, enquanto o Glorioso vive o processo de transição com a chegada de Davide Ancelotti, após a demissão de Renato Paiva. O alvinegro é o oitavo, com 18 tentos.
No pleito para escapar do descenso, Juventude e Sport se enfrentam na segunda (14), no Alfredo Jaconi, buscando um recomeço na Série A, para evitar um retorno à divisão de acesso. Os jaconeiros ocupam a penúltima posição, com oito pontos, e só venceram duas partidas em 11 duelos. O rubro-negro pernambucano tem cenário mais delicado ainda: é o lanterna, com apenas três pontos, e é o único dos 20 times que ainda não venceu.

A 13ª rodada contemplaria a realização do clássico Santos x Palmeiras, mas após pedido do time palestrino, o confronto foi adiado, com uma nova data ainda a ser confirmada pela CBF. O Verdão desembarcou no Brasil na última segunda, e deu descanso aos jogadores. Nos próximos 45 dias, o time de Abel Ferreira irá realizar 14 jogos. Ou seja, uma média de uma partida a cada três dias.
Outro compromisso que sofreu alteração na rodada foi Mirassol x Fluminense, dada a permanência do Tricolor até às semis, tendo sido eliminado nesta terça-feira (08) para o Chelsea. Verdão e Flu voltam a atuar no certame no final de semana seguinte, nos dias 16 e 17, respectivamente. A CBF ainda terá a missão de remarcar outros quatro compromissos referentes à 12ª rodada, quando os representantes nacionais do Mundial estavam prestes a embarcar para os EUA.
