Ein ganz Großer verabschiedet sich von der Basketball-Bühne!
Bundesliga-Legende Karsten Tadda (36) macht im Sommer Schluss. Nach 17 Spielzeiten und mehr als 600 Einsätzen in der BBL beendet das Liga-Urgestein zum Saisonende seine einzigartige Laufbahn.

Der Kapitän der Bamberg Baskets gewann die Champions League, fünf Meistertitel und feierte drei Pokalsiege. Nun geht er in den „Ruhestand“.
Tadda: „Für mich ist der Moment gekommen, die Schuhe an den Nagel zu hängen. Eine unfassbare Reise mit vielen tollen Momenten, vielen Meisterschaften und Titeln liegt hinter mir.“
Und weiter: „Es war immer mein Wunsch, meine Karriere hier in Bamberg zu beenden und ich glaube, dass jetzt der richtige Zeitpunkt dafür ist.“

Der 89-malige Nationalspieler, EM-Teilnehmer 2013, 2015 und 2017, spielte von 2007 bis 2015 für Bamberg. Nach den Stationen Giessen 46ers, ratiopharm Ulm, EWE Baskets Oldenburg und Telekom Baskets Bonn kehrte Tadda 2023 in seine Geburtsstadt zurück.
Coach Gavel: Taddas Karriere „nur schwer mit Worten zu beschreiben“
Mit Bonn gewann der Defensivspezialist die Champions League (2023), alle anderen Titel holte er mit Bamberg. Dort absolvierte der Guard im Februar 2019 auch sein letztes Länderspiel für die DBB-Auswahl.
Bamberg-Coach Anton Gavel: „Egal, wo er gespielt hat, hat er sich in den Dienst der Mannschaft gestellt, seine Rolle voll ausgefüllt und war erfolgreich.“

Er fordert: „Als Bamberger Junge hier fünf Titel plus einen internationalen mit Bonn gewonnen zu haben, ist hervorragend und eigentlich muss sein Trikot unter die Hallendecke gehängt werden. Was er für Bamberg und auch als Nationalspieler für den deutschen Basketball geleistet hat, ist nur schwer mit Worten zu beschreiben.“
Bamberg-Boss Philipp Höhne lobte: „Karstens Karriere ist in vielerlei Hinsicht beeindruckend und ein herausragendes Vorbild für unsere Bamberger Nachwuchstalente. Dass er nun zum Karriereende noch zum BBL-Rekordspieler werden kann, ist hierbei das i-Tüpfelchen.“

Beim Heimspiel am 11. Mai gegen Rasta Vechta wird Bambergs Nummer 9 sein „Abschiedsspiel“ in der Brose Arena bestreiten.
