Rafaela Ferreira começou bem sua carreira na F1 Academy. No GP da China, pertencente a programação da Fórmula 1, a brasileira prestes a completar 20 anos, conquistou seus primeiros pontos na categoria. Na rodada dupla, a piloto da Racing Bulls conseguiu a 5ª e 8ª colocação, respectivamente
No geral foi um final de semana muito bom, tivemos alguns imprevistos no caminho, eu não consegui me classificar muito bem, ainda recebi penalização. Mas fiz provas muito constantes e de recuperação, e acabamos pontuando nas duas corridas. DEentro da meta esperada para o final de semana, cumprimos o estabelecido.”, comentou Rafaela.
A catarinense de Criciúma, ainda, falou sobre a principal dificuldade nesta estreia.
“O maior desafio desse final de semana foram os poucos tempos de pista, tivemos só um treino livre de 40 minutos que eu nem participei praticamente, e depois uma classificação muito rápida, então me acostumar com essa rotina muito rápida e frenética, foi o mais desafiador”, completou.
Piloto teve que “escalar” o pelotão nas duas provas
Em ambas provas, Ferreira teve que fazer corridas de recuperação. Na corrida 1, Rafaela largou no 16º lugar e conseguiu escalar 11 posições terminando a corrida na 5º colocação, um ótimo resultado para a sua primeira corrida na categoria. A corrida foi marcada por diversas entradas do safety car. Na corrida 2, conseguiu mais uma vez escalar o pelotão, e terminar em uma posição melhor que a da largada, dessa vez cruzando a bandeira quadriculada na 8ª colocação.
O fato é que a F1 Academy tem seu calendário de provas composto por sete etapas com 14 corridas. As meninas voltam a pista em Jeddah, Arábia Saudita, nos dias 18, 19 e 20 de abril. E vale lembrar que, além de Rafaela Ferreira, o Brasil é representado por Aurelia Nobels da Ferrari.
