O treinador colorado decidiu colocar sua opinião sobre a questão da saída de Dorival Júnior da seleção brasileira e a busca da CBF pelo sucessor, que deve ser um estrangeiro. Algo ao qual o comandante do time gaúcho não concorda, por acreditar que não há a necessidade de não ter treinadores do país à frente do selecionado nacional
“Passaram a desejar o estrangeiro não vem do nada. Não fomos nós que pedimos estrangeiros. Eu gostaria de ver um brasileiro, mas não sou contra”, disse Roger.
Desde a queda de Dorival, acertada no final da última semana, os nomes de Jorge Jesus e Carlo Ancelotti tem sido os principais especulados para assumir o comando da Seleção. Ancelotti interessa a CBF já há algum tempo, tendo sido alvo de negociação no passado, mas com o italiano preferindo ficar no Real Madrid,
Ambiente externo é influência
Nas recentes especulações, é Jorge Jesus quem aparece como favorito ao cargo, muito pelas impressões deixadas pela sua passagem pelo Flamengo. Segundo Roger, muito de tal pressão para contratar um técnico não-brasileiro tem a ver com a CBF tentando responder pressões da imprensa e da opinião pública.
“Quem fala de estrangeiro é o ambiente externo. Em 2014, depois do 7 a 1, estava acomodado como auxiliar. E quando a gente perdeu, se falava que os treinadores mais velhos não serviam. Que tinha que renova. Entendi aquele momento e saí para me lançar ao treinador, tinha 38 anos. Muitos fizeram o mesmo caminho e alguns permaneceram”, afirmou o treinador do Internacional.
“Estivemos em outras seleções também. Mas um país pentacampeão do mundo tem treinadores que poderiam ocupar. Foi o mais antigo que não servia, vieram os mais novos. Os mais novos não serviam, agora querem os estrangeiros. Como treinador, pauto para fortalecer a minha categoria. Com atualização, informação e conhecimento, isso não nos falta. Não devemos nada para treinadores de outros países”, completou.
