Italia sigue conmocionada con el escándalo de la gimnasia rítmica. Este lunes han trascendido nuevos detalles sobre las vejaciones a las que estuvieron sometidas varias gimnastas del equipo nacional, entre ellas Sofia Raffaeli, bronce en los Juegos Olímpicos de París 2024, once veces medallista en Mundiales y otras once en Europeos. Hay que recordar que hace tres días, la Federación Italiana de Gimnasia (FGI) comunicó la destitución de Emanuela Maccarani como seleccionadora del equipo de rítmica tras 29 años. En 2022, varias gimnastas la acusaron de supuestos abusos, maltrato y acoso psicólogo.
Pero al parecer no fue la única del cuerpo técnico, según queda de manifiesto en conversaciones interceptadas a raíz de la investigación contra Emanuela Maccarani y que recogen las actas del proceso judicial del Tribunal de Monza que lleva el caso. Julieta Cantaluppi, la ex entrenadora de la Sociedad Gimnástica de Fabriano, concretamente de Sofia Raffaeli y Milena Baldassarri, y en varias ocasiones seleccionadora nacional junior, también llevó a cabo prácticas inaceptables. “De ella todo es mucho peor….. Hay malos tratos. Cuando hizo que Raffaeli y Serena Ottaviani hicieran el lanzamiento al aro… y cada vez que no podían hacer el lanzamiento tenían que quitarse parte de la ropa. Y al final se quedaban en ropa interior”.
Los periodistas Elisabetta Esposito y Claudio Lenzidesvelan en la Gazzeta dello Sport esta conversación telefónica entre Olga Tishina, adjunta de la seleccionadora investigada, y Natalia Nesvetova, directora técnica de Ginnastica Etruria Prato. Tuvo lugar el 17 de noviembre de 2022, poco después de que estallara el caso Maccarani. “Las encerraba en una habitación pequeña y fría, sin teléfonos, sin nada, porque entrenaban mal, las castigaba, se sentaban en el suelo…”, añade Tishina.

Sofía Raffaeli, medallista olímpica en París, habría sufrido este tipo de abusos. Según desvelan, fue obligada a arrodillarse ante una entrenadora a la que le rogaba que aceptara sus disculpas por haber hecho mal un ejercicio. A diferencia de Maccarani, no se ha presentado una denuncia contra Cantaluppi.
Intolerables comentarios sexistas
Y todo ello se conoce un día después de que Italia se quedase en shock al desvelarse, precisamente a raíz del caso Maccarani, una conversación telefónica en la que Andrea Facci, presidente de la Federación de Gimnasia desde hace un mes, calificara a una gimnasta como “coño precioso”. Facci realizó comentarios machistas y ofensivos sobre Ginevra Parrini, una gimnasta italiana, en una charla contra el anterior presidente de la FGI, Gherardo Tecchi. La Fiscalía de Monza interceptó la llamada entre ambos mandatarios, aunque el contenido de las conversaciones interceptadas por las autoridades no afectará en la sentencia sobre Maccarani al no hablar de los supuestos abusos de la seleccionadora.
Todo había comenzado en 2022, cuando las gimnastas Nina Corradini y Anna Basta -entre otras- relataron el calvario y las humillaciones que vivieron durante sus entrenamientos con Maccarani. Ginevra Parrini ratificó la versión de sus compañeras en varios medios de comunicación italianos.
