Deion Sanders has become the face of Colorado football, bringing national attention and a revitalized energy to the Buffaloes. However, despite signing a lucrative $54 million contract extension, a FOX analyst believes Sanders remains underpaid for the impact he has had on the program.
The deal, which secures Sanders in Boulder through 2030, marks a significant investment by the university. Yet, according to FOX Sports insider Bruce Feldman, the financial numbers don’t fully reflect the true worth of Coach Prime.
Feldman argued that Sanders’ influence extends far beyond wins and losses-he has turned Colorado into a cultural phenomenon, drawing top recruits, boosting ticket sales, and generating millions in revenue.
Is Coach Prime’s value unmatched?
Since Sanders took over at Colorado, the program has seen a dramatic rise in national visibility. Games featuring the Buffaloes have become must-watch events, setting record television ratings and leading to increased sponsorships.
Feldman pointed out that before Sanders arrived, Colorado struggled to stay relevant on the national stage. Now, with the NFL legend at the helm, the program is constantly in the spotlight. Given this transformation, some believe Sanders’ deal-while substantial-is still a bargain for Colorado.
“His value goes beyond what’s on paper,” Feldman noted, emphasizing the long-term benefits Sanders has brought to the school. He also hinted that if Sanders continues to elevate the program, his next contract could easily surpass the current $54 million mark.
While Sanders himself has not voiced any dissatisfaction with his deal, the debate over his worth continues. If he keeps pushing Colorado into the national conversation, the university may soon have to reconsider just how much Coach Prime is truly worth.
