Und weiter: „Das Leben hier ist entschleunigt. Hier gibt es keinen großen Zeitdruck. Die Leute leben nach dem Motto ,Inshallah tomorrow‘ also: So Gott will, morgen. Es wird sich nicht ständig über irgendwelche Kleinigkeiten aufgeregt. Und das Wetter ist natürlich grandios.“
Bade und al-Ahli liegen momentan auf Platz 5 der Saudi Pro League, nur drei Punkte hinter Ronaldo-Klub al-Nassr. Er sagt: „Als ich 2012 hierhergekommen bin, durften Frauen noch nicht ins Stadion, durften nicht Auto fahren oder arbeiten. In den Restaurants gab es getrennte Bereiche für Männer und Frauen. Vor einigen Jahren wurde ich noch oft aus einer Mall gebeten, weil ich eine kurze Hose getragen habe. Das war öffentlich nicht gern gesehen. Heute ist das alles ganz anders, viel offener. Es sind deutliche Fortschritte erkennbar.“
