Tostão repercutiu em sua coluna na Folha de S. Paulo neste sábado (05), sobre as falas ditas por Roger Machado na coletiva pós-jogo diante do Bahia, neste meio de semana, e enalteceu o comandante técnico do Internacional por novamente ter levantado o assunto do racismo.
Também notabilizado por valorizar temas que transcendem o futebol, o tricampeão disse que o técnico do Colorado precisava ser mais ouvido, sendo exemplo para o combate da prática racista.
“As pessoas deveriam escutar as palavras sobre o hediondo racismo ditas por Roger Machado após o jogo contra o Bahia, no lugar de ouvir os midiáticos e repetitivos discursos”, iniciou Tostão
“Roger termina falando que quando não houver nenhum caso noticiado não significará que acabou o racismo, apenas ficará adormecido, pois existe há mais de 500 anos. O racismo precisa ser educado e severamente punido”, complementou o ex-jogador.
Racismo na Libertadores
No duelo da Libertadores entre Sporting Cristal e Palmeiras, no Peru, torcedores do time da casa cometeram atos de racismo, com um deles imitando um macaco em direção à torcida palestrina.
O Verdão emitiu nota lamentando mais um episódio, e cobrou medidas drásticas da Conmebol, que se comprometeu a aplicar penas justas e não tolerar a prática racista. Vale lembrar que, recentemente, o atacante alviverde Luighi, denunciou um caso na disputa da Libertadores Sub-20, contra o Cerro Porteño.

Falando sobre o futebol nas quatro linhas, Tostão foi incisivo ao elencar o duelo Bahia x Internacional, na Arena Fonte Nova, como o melhor jogo da primeira rodada na fase de grupos da Libertadores, destacando indiretamente a admiração pelo trabalho dos dois treinadores brasileiros.
