Lars Ricken (48) kämpft als Sport-Geschäftsführer beim BVB auch nach einem Jahr Amtszeit um Anerkennung. Noch immer muss er wichtige Entscheidungen – wie die Verpflichtung von Trainer Niko Kovac (53) – eng mit Klub-Boss Hans-Joachim Watzke (65) absprechen.
Der war vor Ricken Sport-Boss – und hinterließ große Fußstapfen. Er wird auch die große General-Analyse leiten, die nach Saisonende stattfindet und in der u. a. über die Zukunft von Kovac und Kehl debattiert werden soll. Watzke ist omnipräsent. Daran wird sich so schnell nichts ändern.
Nachdem Ricken nachgesagt wurde, dass er Entscheidungen zu langsam treffe, versucht er nun, schneller durchzugreifen.
[–>► Kurz nach der Entlassung von Ex-Trainer Nuri Sahin (36) soll der damalige Kaderplaner Sven Mislintat (52) Domenico Tedesco (39) vorgeschlagen haben. Ricken verwies auf dessen Schalke-Vergangenheit und bügelte ab.
► Dass Mislintat wegen der internen Querelen – vor allem mit Kehl – im Februar entlassen wurde, war alleine Rickens Entscheidung.
► Nach dieser verkorksten Bundesliga-Saison wird es im Klub unangenehme Gespräche geben – vor allem, wenn Spieler den Verein verlassen müssen. Dabei könnte es um Niklas Süle (29), Salih Özcan (27) oder auch Julian Brandt (28) gehen. Ricken und Kehl werden diese Gespräche führen.
Ricken schaffte die BVB-Elefantenrunde ab
Die sogenannte Elefantenrunde im Klub ist Geschichte – Ricken schaffte sie ab, weil sich seiner Meinung nach zu viele in die Kaderplanung einmischten.
Jetzt wird es sogar noch drastischer – dabei geht es um Berater Matthias Sammer (57)! SPORT BILD weiß: Ricken will dessen Ende dieses Jahres auslaufenden Vertrag nur dann verlängern, wenn sich seine Rolle grundlegend verändert.
In der Vergangenheit schlug Sammer auch Neuzugänge vor – das soll es in Zukunft nicht mehr geben. Seine einzige Möglichkeit, beim BVB zu bleiben: Er soll den Verein strategisch in der gesamten Ausrichtung beraten. Entscheidungen über konkrete Personalien liegen bei Ricken und Kehl. Und Watzke, wenn es sich um größere Investitionen handelt.
Klare Entscheidungen – aber sie müssen spätestens in der neuen Saison auch Früchte tragen.
