Jean-Claude Van Damme has responded forcefully to serious sex trafficking allegations against him, calling them “absurd” and unfounded. Recently, the 64-year-old Belgian actor was accused in a criminal complaint before the Romanian Directorate for the Investigation of Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT), in which it was alleged that five women, allegedly trafficked, were offered to the actor for sexual intercourse.
The alleged incident reportedly occurred during a visit to Cannes, in the south of France, for the premiere of one of his films.

Van Damme’s representative, Patrick Goavec, dismissed the allegations, calling them “grotesque and non-existent.” In a statement issued to People, Goavec expressed his rejection of the rumors, stressing that “the reported facts have no basis whatsoever.” He added that the actor had no intention of going into detail or giving any further relevance to what he considered an “absurd and totally unfounded rumor.”
The alleged incidents took place in Cannes at an event organised by the Kickboxer star, and the women – all models – were allegedly offered to him as a “gift”. “Those women were in a state of vulnerability, and are suspected of being exploited within the meaning of Article 182 of the Penal Code,” Adrian Cuculis, lawyer for one of the alleged victims, told the Spanish media outlet.
“The events took place in Cannes, at an event organized by Jean-Claude Van Damme. There, several Romanians who are currently under investigation for the creation of a criminal group and pimping, allegedly offered him five Romanian women – photographic models in Romania – to have sexual relations with them,” Cuculis said. “The person who received these benefits knew their status,” the lawyer said in his statement. “From the testimonies of the witnesses, it is very clear that Jean-Claude Van Damme knew that these people were being exploited,” he said.
