Wenn Axel Kromer (48) damit Aufmerksamkeit generieren wollte, ist es ihm auf jeden Fall gelungen. Allerdings in die genau falsche Richtung.
Kromer war lange Jahre Sport-Vorstand beim Deutschen Handballbund (DHB), vergangenes Jahr wurde sein Vertrag nicht mehr verlängert. Inzwischen ist Kromer Geschäftsführer des Zweitligisten HBW Balingen-Weilstetten, einem der vier Teilnehmer am Final4 um den DHB-Pokal.
Mit einem Interview, das Kromer der Stuttgarter Zeitung und den Stuttgarter Nachrichten gegeben hat, sorgte der Funktionär dafür, dass der sportliche Erfolg seines Klubs völlig in den Hintergrund rückt.

„Ich habe im Verein einen Beirat, einen Präsidenten, die sich mit unglaublicher Leidenschaft engagieren und sich mega für die sportliche Lage interessieren und dazu sehr regelmäßig Kontakt suchen“, sagt Kromer über seinen neuen Arbeitgeber HBW Balingen-Weilstetten.
Dann überkommt ihn offensichtlich die noch immer nicht verdaute Wut über sein Aus beim DHB. Seine Zielscheibe: Verbands-Präsident Andreas Michelmann (65). „Beim DHB ging es bei Anrufen des Präsidenten vor allem darum, wann er mit der Mannschaft zum Essen gehen kann.“

Major League Baseball is acknowledging that there has been more drag on the baseballs used in games this season, resulting in long fly balls traveling four feet less than they did last year.The confirmation from MLB responded to a report by The Athletic, which reviewed fly ball and drag information available to the public.
