O Palmeiras assumiu a liderança temporária do Brasileirão Série A após derrotar o Corinthians por 2 a 0, na noite deste sábado (12), no estádio Arena Barueri, em São Paulo. Os gols foram marcados por Piquerez e Emiliano Martínez, no primeiro tempo.

O lateral-esquerdo inaugurou o marcador aos 14 minutos do primeiro tempo e o meio-campista dobrou a vantagem palmeirense aos 19. De acordo com o técnico Abel Ferreira, o resultado poderia ser maior.

“Poderíamos e deveríamos ter feito mais dois ou três gols e não conseguimos. Pena o resultado ter sido muito curto pela produção da nossa equipe. Devíamos e poderíamos ter feito mais dois ou três gols”, declarou o português, em entrevista coletiva.

Piquerez e Emiliano Martínez balançaram as redes após finalizarem de longe. “A diferença é que fizemos dois gols. E dois golaços de fora da área. Os fáceis, dentro da área, às vezes não conseguimos fazer”, completou Abel Ferreira.

Palmeiras estreia reforço em jogo do Brasileirão Série A

Contratado junto ao Atlético-MG, o atacante Paulinho estreou pelo clube presidido por Leila Pereira. O profissional entrou em campo aos 31 minutos do segundo tempo juntamente com Flaco López, quando Estêvão e Vitor Roque foram substituídos.

“Valeu o sacrifício, o esforço. Foi um desafio muito grande. Joguei quase oito meses machucado, com a perna fraturada. Chegou um momento que estava insuportável”, relatou Paulinho.

“Foi muito difícil ter que operar, chegar em um novo clube tendo que recuperar, atrasado com outros jogadores, mas tenho que agradecer todo o staff, fisioterapia e médicos do Palmeiras”, completou.

O Palmeiras volta a campo nesta quarta (16). Vai encarar o Internacional, a partir das 19h30 (horário de Brasília), no estádio Beira-Rio, em Porto Alegre. O confronto é válido pela rodada 4 do Brasileirão Série A.
