Starting pitching is always a critical element to any winning MLB DFS strategy and a full 15-game slate on Tuesday means that you’ll have plenty of pitching options in the MLB DFS player pool. Spencer Schwellenbach has taken baseball by storm with a 0.45 ERA over his first three starts and the 24-year-old is sure to be a popular option for MLB DFS lineups. So who much exposure should you have to Schwellenbach and who else should you be targeting for your MLB DFS picks?
Nobody in baseball is hotter than Angels outfielder Taylor Ward, who has hit five home runs in his last five games. Ward’s pricing is on the rise ($4,300 on DraftKings and $3,500 on FanDuel) but there still may be some time to extract value while he’s seeing the ball this well. Before locking in any MLB DFS picks for Tuesday, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.
McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won more than $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.
On Monday (when McClure last made MLB DFS picks), McClure identified Dodgers DH Shohei Ohtani has one of his top MLB DFS picks on both sites. The result: Ohtani went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and hit a solo home run, returning 24 points on DraftKings and 31.1 points on FanDuel. Anybody who included him in their lineups could have been well on the way to a profitable day.
Now, with the 2025 MLB continuing on Tuesday, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks for April 15. You can head to SportsLine now to see them.
McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Tuesday, April 15
One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Tuesday is Orioles outfielder Tyler O’Neill at $4,700 on DraftKings and $3,100 on FanDuel for MLB DFS lineups. The 30-year-old is playing for his third team in the last three years, but he’s providing incredible value early in Baltimore.
After enjoying his second 30-homer season of his career last year in Boston, O’Neill is slashing .289/.365/.533 over his first 13 games in Baltimore. He has two home runs, three doubles and a triple during that span, and has scored seven runs while driving in eight. On Tuesday, he’ll match up with Guardians lefty Logan Allen, and O’Neill had a staggering 1.180 OPS against left-handed pitching last season.
McClure is also rostering Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts ($6,000 on DraftKings and $4,100 on FanDuel). Despite battling a stomach bug that led to him losing 20 pounds this spring, Betts is off to a scorching start in 2025. He’s slashing .304/.400/.554 with four home runs and 10 RBI and 12 runs scored over his first 15 games.
Betts went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and two RBI on Monday night against the reeling Rockies (3-13) and Colorado starter Ryan Feltner could be due to come back to earth after three solid starts to begin the season. Feltner went 3-10 last season with a 4.41 ERA and he sports a career ERA of 5.12 and a career WHIP of 1.41. See McClure’s full MLB DFS player pool right here.
