Jedes Tor beim 3:0-Heimsieg gegen Heidenheim feierte Eintracht-Torwart Kauã Santos (22), als ob der Klub gerade einen Titel gewonnen hätte. Die positive Energie des Brasilianers ist ansteckend. Seit sechs Spielen ersetzt der 1,98-Meter-Riese – Schuhgröße 47,5 – Kapitän Kevin Trapp (34/Muskelanriss am rechten Schienbein) so gut, dass es unwahrscheinlich ist, dass die eigentliche Nummer 1 überhaupt noch mal ins Tor zurückkehren wird.
Spätestens nach seinen spektakulären Paraden im Europa-League-Viertelfinale bei Tottenham (1:1) ist Santos eine der heißesten Torwart-Aktien Europas. Nach SPORT BILD-Informationen sprachen Tottenhams Technischer Direktor Johan Lange (45) und Manchester Uniteds Christopher Vivell (38/Direktor Profifußball) Frankfurts Sport-Chef Markus Krösche (44) noch während des Spiels auf den Brasilianer und dessen Zukunftspläne an.

Manchester United war schon vergangenen Herbst an Santos interessiert. Jetzt haben ihn alle Topklubs in Europa auf der Liste. Doch wie so oft, Krösche war bei der Bewertung eines Spielers schneller als die Konkurrenz und verlängerte schon im Oktober – als viele den Namen Kauã Santos gar nicht auf der Liste hatten – vorzeitig von 2028 bis 2030. Das Gehalt erhöhte Krösche von rund einer Mio. auf 1,5 Mio. Euro. Das Zeichen, das er damit sendete: Eintracht plant langfristig mit dem Brasilianer. Die Folge: Wenn ihn jetzt jemand kaufen will, wird es richtig teuer.
Intern hat Frankfurt bereits beschlossen, Santos (Marktwert laut transfermarkt.de 2,5 Mio.) in der Zukunft nicht unter 60 Mio. Euro zu verkaufen. Was aber, wenn schon im Sommer einer von Europas Topklubs diese Summe bieten sollte? Krösche: „Wir verkaufen Kauã im Sommer auf keinen Fall.“ Klare Ansage!
[–>Der Plan: Santos soll bei Frankfurt erst einmal richtig Spielpraxis sammeln, um irgendwann als gereifter Spieler zu einem Topklub zu gehen. Santos Umfeld vergleicht dessen Weg mit Manuel Neuer (39). Bevor der Weltmeister 2011 zum FC Bayern wechselte, bestritt er 203 Spiele für Schalke (u. a. in der Champions League). Als er nach München kam, war er „schon“ 25 Jahre alt. Santos’ Umfeld ist es wichtig, dass er sich ebenfalls Schritt für Schritt entwickeln kann. Dafür ist Frankfurt der perfekte Ort.
Adeyemi über seine Auswechslung: „Natürlich war ich sauer“
Eine große Rolle bei seiner Entwicklung spielt Torwart-Trainer Jan Zimmermann (39), zu dem Santos ein sehr enges Verhältnis pflegt. Einige Wochen bevor der Keeper im Sommer 2023 aus der U20 von Flamengo Rio de Janeiro zum Schnäppchen-Preis von 1,6 Mio. Euro nach Frankfurt kam, schickte Zimmermann ihm bereits vier DIN-A4-Seiten mit den aus seiner Sicht wichtigsten Fußballvokabeln – auf Portugiesisch, Englisch und Deutsch. Diese musste Santos bis zu seinem Eintreffen in Deutschland auswendig lernen. Als er ankam, konnte er alle.
Falls Trapp (Vertrag bis 2026) in dieser Saison noch mal fit wird, wird er aller Voraussicht nach trotzdem nicht spielen, solange Santos sich nicht verletzt. Denn in Frankfurt gilt das Leistungsprinzip. Und da liegt Santos aktuell deutlich vorn. Bis zum Sommer muss sich Trapp dann entscheiden, ob er sich mit der Rolle als Nummer zwei anfreunden könnte. Eintracht wird ihm, trotz seines Status als Top-Verdiener (3,5 Mio. Grundgehalt), nichts vorschreiben. Dafür sind seine Verdienste – u. a. Europa-League-Sieg – zu groß.
