Bei den „Königlichen“ läuft es in dieser Saison einfach nicht rund. In der Champions League ist der Titelverteidiger bereits im Viertelfinale am FC Arsenal gescheitert. Erschreckend: Im Hin- und Rückspiel konnten die Spanier dem Premier-League-Klub kein Paroli bieten. Ein ungewohntes Bild, welches Real in diesem Duell abgegeben hat.
Auch in der Liga sind die Madrilenen nur Zweiter. Erzrivale FC Barcelona ist auf dem besten Weg, die Meisterschaft einzufahren. Real droht eine titellose Saison.

Der LaLiga-Klub sucht jetzt dringend einen Ersatz. Der Real-Blick ist bei der Sondierung auf den englischen Markt gefallen. Dort ist Manchester-City-Superstar Rodri (28) in den Fokus geraten. Laut „Cadena SER“ sehen die Real-Bosse in Rodri den perfekten Kroos-Ersatz.
Wie wertvoll der Spanier ist, spürt auch Man City in dieser Saison. Der Mittelfeld-Superstar hatte sich im vergangenen September einen Kreuzbandriss zugezogen. Damit begann der City-Absturz. Auch der Klub von Trainer-Ass Pep Guardiola ist früh aus der Königsklasse ausgeschieden (in den Playoffs gegen Real). In der Premier League ist man weit abgeschlagen auf Platz vier. Die Meisterschaft ist lange abgehakt.

Aber Real macht sich wohl vergebens Hoffnungen bei Rodri. Denn der Europameister fühlt sich sehr wohl in Manchester, plant wohl keinen verfrühten Abgang. Sein Vertrag bei den Engländern läuft noch bis 2027. Vor seiner Verletzung wollte Real diesen schnellstmöglich bis 2030 – auch um Konkurrenten wie Real abzuschrecken – verlängern.
Aktuell kämpft Rodri um sein Comeback, trainiert schon wieder mit dem Team. Er könnte im Sommer bei der Klub-WM wieder dabei sein, heißt es in England.
Für Real wird er wohl danach nicht auflaufen …
