Shedeur Sanders gets fired up and sends a warning to Jaxson Dart, who made a tough decision

We’re just days away from the 2025 NFL Draft, and everything comes down to what will happen with Shedeur Sanders-specifically, which team will select the high-profile quarterback from the Colorado Buffaloes. Currently, the New Orleans Saints, holding the 9th overall pick in the first round, are the favorites to take Deion Sanders’ son, according to betting odds.

In recent weeks, there was talk that Jaxson Dart, the Ole Miss quarterback, might surpass Shedeur and be drafted earlier. However, it now seems that Dart will fall short of becoming the second quarterback selected in the draft. He wasn’t able to move ahead of Sanders and has made a big decision.

Jaxson Dart will not attend the NFL Draft

A week ago, it was reported that Dart was among the 17 players who would not attend the Draft, which will be held in Green Bay. But now, according to ESPN, he’s changed his mind and will indeed not be attending-likely for a specific reason: he’s not expected to be selected in the first round.

The NFL updated its list of invited players, and Jaxson Dart is no longer on it-despite being included initially. This suggests that only two quarterbacks will be selected in the first round. Cam Ward is expected to go first overall to the Tennessee Titans, and Shedeur Sanders is likely heading to the New Orleans Saints-unless the Steelers pull off a major trade.

No specific reason was given for Dart’s decision not to attend the event. Typically, players who are invited are projected to go in the first round. Yahoo Sports still ranks Dart among the top 32 prospects, but the low demand for quarterbacks this year in the NFL may have pushed Dart into the second round.

Jaxson Dart threw 29 touchdown passes, six interceptions, and led the SEC with 4,279 passing yards at Ole Miss. With those numbers, Dart will almost certainly hear his name called during the 2025 NFL Draft-but it now looks like it’ll happen in the second round.
