Colorado football’s upward trajectory under head coach Deion Sanders continues to make waves in the college football world, and the transfer portal.
Over the weekend, BYU wide receiver and return specialist Keelan Marion appeared to tease interest in joining the Buffaloes just before Colorado extended him a formal scholarship offer on Sunday.

Marion’s portal transfer turned heads
The buzz began when a fan tagged Marion in a social media post speculating that Colorado was seeking a top receiver.
Marion’s response was cryptic, yet pointed.
“@rlpslive tell em I ain’t hard to find,” he wrote, a line often used by Coach Prime himself.
The timing of the comment raised eyebrows across fan circles, especially as it came just days after Marion officially entered the NCAA transfer portal.
The 6-foot, 200-pound receiver made a strong impact for BYU in 2024, tallying 24 receptions for 346 yards and a touchdown.
He also added 96 rushing yards and two scores.
But his most electric contributions came on special teams, where he earned All-America honors with 472 kickoff return yards and two touchdowns, including a memorable return against Utah.
Marion’s transfer caught many off guard.
After a productive season and a standout showing in spring practices, he was widely expected to play a key role for the Cougars in 2025.
Yet, with Colorado seeking dynamic players in multiple roles, the fit may be mutual.
Following the Buffaloes’ spring game on Saturday, Sanders outlined the positions he’s looking to bolster.
“One tremendous defensive tackle; another linebacker or two; two safeties; probably three corners; one receiver that’s a grown man, that’s a dog…” Sanders listed, hinting at the type of player he wants.
Now officially offered a scholarship, Marion appears to be exactly that, a “grown man” type of receiver with proven ability and game-breaking return skills.
With Colorado’s young receiving corps still developing, Marion could bring veteran leadership and explosive versatility to Boulder.
Whether the former BYU standout will accept the offer remains to be seen, but all signs suggest the Buffs are pushing to add firepower before the 2025 season kicks off.
