Noch vor der Klub-WM in den USA (14. Juni bis 13. Juli) kommt es beim BVB zur Generalabrechnung. Trotz noch möglicher Schadensbegrenzung durch eine Europa-Qualifikation ist bereits jetzt, klar, dass die verkorkste Saison Konsequenzen für einzelne Stars haben wird.

Mittelfeld-Techniker Giovanni Reyna (22/Vertrag bis 2026) wurde bereits mitgeteilt, dass er sich nach einem neuen Klub umschauen muss. Ebenfalls auf Suche gehen darf Mittelfeld-Abräumer Salih Özcan (27/2026). Auch Kabinen-Reizfigur Marcel Sabitzer (31/2027) darf gehen. Der Österreicher hat nur noch eine Resthoffnung, weil Trainer Niko Kovac (53) seine Abräumer-Qualitäten schätzt. Sabitzer war in der laufenden Saison noch an keinem einzigen BVB-Treffer beteiligt, fehlt aktuell wegen eines Innenbandrisses im Knie.
[–>Spielmacher Julian Brandt (28/2026) zeigte zuletzt immer schwächere Leistungen. Die einst geplanten Verlängerungsgespräche sind auf Eis gelegt.
