Es ist Play-off-Zeit im Eishockey. Und in dieser Zeit blüht Leonhard „Leo“ Pföderl (31) auf!
Im dritten Spiel der Finalserie gegen die Kölner Haie (7:0) donnerte der Stürmer der Eisbären Berlin den Puck gleich dreimal in die Maschen des Haie-Tores, sorgte vor dem vierten Spiel in Köln (heute, MagentaSport 19.30 Uhr) für die 2:1-Führung in der Serie für Berlin.
[–>Und: Insgesamt kommt der Bayer aus dem kleinen Ort Gaißach bei Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen (3061 Einwohner) auf sagenhafte 46 Play-off-Treffer, womit er die bisherige Bestmarke des Ex-Nürnbergers Patrick Reimer (42) um ein Tor am Ostermontag überbot.
Eisbär Pföderl schießt Berlin auf Titelkurs
Pföderl ist kein Mann vieler Worte. Er lässt Tore sprechen. In der letzten Saison schoss er gegen Bremerhaven an der Küste den vorentscheidenden Treffer zum 1:0 im letztlich entscheidenden Spiel zum Titel. Gegenwärtig sind Pföderl und seine Eisbären erneut auf Titelkurs. Noch zwei Siege gegen Köln und der Pott ist wieder ein Berliner.

Aber warum ist dieser Teufelskerl im Eisbären-Trikot gerade in den Play-offs so stark und torgefährlich?
Pföderl: „Ich bin immer ein Teufelskerl“
Leo antwortet mit gewohnt mit stoischer Ruhe: „Ich bin immer ein Teufelskerl. Keine Ahnung, warum das so ist. Aber es ist doch gut für uns alle.“
Pföderl und die Eisbären sind eine verschworene Truppe, die auch nach zehn Titeln immer noch Hunger auf mehr hat. Leo in einem MagentaSport-Interview: „Wenn du einmal Meister geworden bist, sagst du nicht, ‚jetzt ist gut‘. Da bist nicht satt, du magst wieder den Pokal, magst wieder die Woche Party. Das ist wie eine Droge.“
Auch auf dem Bau ein Meister
Die nötige Schusskraft und Kondition holte sich Pföderl in der Vergangenheit auch oft im Familienbetrieb seines Vaters auf dem Bau. Der Eisbär, gelernter Maurer, kann zupacken, ist auch sonst ein harter Arbeiter. Jetzt mauert er am 11. Titel der Eisbären. Und wie!

Sein Trainer Serge Aubin (50) schwärmt in höchsten Tönen von seinem Spieler mit eingebauter Torgarantie. Der Kanadier: „Mit gefällt, dass die Jungs Spaß haben. Leo lebt für’s Eishockey. Er hat sich definitiv auf ein anderes Level gehoben. Wir können es brauchen, dass er so weitermacht.“ Pföderl: „Es ist egal, wie ein Spiel ausgeht. Am Ende brauchst du vier Siege.“
Leo Pföderl kennt keinen Schmerz. Einmal spielte er sogar mit gebrochenem Fuß die Play-offs und fuhr danach auch noch zur WM mit der Nationalmannschaft. Typisch Pföderl.
Man hat inzwischen fast den Eindruck, als würde Leo Pföderl auch ohne Geld Eishockey spielen. Doch die Zeiten knapper Kassen sind bei den Eisbären seit dem Einstieg der amerikanischen Anschutz-Gruppe 1999 zum Glück längst Geschichte. In. Berlin wird gut bezahlt. Dafür gibt es aber auch Top-Leistungen von den Spielern zurück.
