Roger Flores acredita que Fernando Diniz é o melhor nome para assumir o Vasco. Derrotado pelo Palmeiras, em Brasília, o Cruz-Maltino acumula seis partidas sem vencer, motivo pelo qual o sinal de alerta está ligado no Brasileirão. Levando em conta que o ex-técnico da seleção também busca uma volta por cima na temporada, o eventual acordo é avaliado como ideal para ambos os lados.
“Em relação ao Vasco, estou na torcida para acertar com o Fernando Diniz. Ele precisa de um grande trabalho e o Vasco de um grande treinador.”, disse Roger Flores, em transmissão da TV Globo.
Saindo atrás no placar, o Vasco não conseguiu evitar outro revés no Campeonato Brasileiro. Diante do nível elevado do Palmeiras, Roger Flores destacou que não houve margem para o clube carioca igualar o confronto.
“Para buscar o empate contra um adversário que está na frente do placar e se defende bem, você tem que ter um time muito bem treinado e entrosado ou talentos individuais. O Vasco não tem nenhum dos dois.”, prosseguiu.

Sem Coutinho e Vegetti, o Vasco resistiu no primeiro tempo e ainda esteve próximo de balançar as redes do Palmeiras com João Victor, algo evitado por Giay. Ciente da discrepância entre os times, Roger Flores considera que o Cruz-Maltino não fez um péssimo jogo, mas cometeu um erro fatal no campo de defesa.
“Dentro daquilo que colocou em campo, não foi um jogo ruim do Vasco. Teve oportunidades de sair na frente. O Felipe perdeu dois jogadores importantes, Lucas Freitas e Loide, que era o principal desafogo do Vasco. O João Victor teve uma finalização que o Giay tirou dentro do gol.”
“O Vasco criou possibilidades dentro daquilo que tem hoje. Mas, contra o Palmeiras, não pode deixar de colocar essa bola pra dentro porque, em algum momento, o Palmeiras vai te punir.”, afirmou.
