Der VfL Bochum und Holstein Kiel verabschieden sich aus der Bundesliga. Für beide Klubs ist schon nach dem vorletzten Spieltag der Klassenerhalt rechnerisch nicht mehr möglich.

Der Pott-Klub muss nach dem 1:4 gegen Mainz und dem zeitgleichen 3:0 der Heidenheimer nach 1449 Tagen Bundesliga wieder runter in die 2. Liga.
Um 16.14 Uhr macht Mainz an der Castroper Straße fast das Licht aus! In der Nachspielzeit der ersten Halbzeit zaubert Amiri (siebtes Saisontor) einen Freistoß von der Strafraumkante direkt in den Knick, lässt Bochum-Keeper Horn keine Chance (45.+4).
Acht Minuten nach der Halbzeit erhöht Mwene zum 0:2 (53.). Nebel macht dann den Deckel drauf (90.+3).
Das ganze Bochumer Stadion singt trotzdem: „Zweite Liga tut schon weh, scheißegal – Bochum ole.“
Mainz darf nach zuvor sieben Spielen ohne Sieg plötzlich wieder von Europa träumen, springt vorübergehend auf den 6. Tabellenplatz.
Holstein Kiel – SC Freiburg 1:2
Wacker gekämpft und doch abgestiegen!
Holstein Kiel muss sich dem SC Freiburg mit 1:2 geschlagen geben. Da Heidenheim im Parallelspiel gegen Union (3:0) gewinnt, haben die Störche nach nur einer Saison im Oberhaus keine Chance mehr auf die Relegation.

Union Berlin – Heidenheim 0:3

Heidenheim watscht Union Berlin mit 3:0 ab, hat damit zumindest die Relegation sicher. Doch dadurch muss St. Pauli nochmal zittern …

Bitter: Lautstarke Unterstützung der Heidenheimer Fans bleibt aus. Grund dafür ist ein Polizeieinsatz während der Anreise- und Einlassphase. Beim Fanmarsch sind die Heidenheimer offenbar falsch abgebogen, was die Polizei verwirrt hat.
Nun muss St. Pauli nochmal bibbern: Der Hamburger-Kiez-Klub (spielt morgen in Frankfurt) wäre schon bei einem Unentschieden der Unioner (zuvor 8 Spiele ungeschlagen) gerettet gewesen. Muss jetzt aber weiter vor dem Abstieg zittern.
Werder Bremen – RB Leipzig 0:0
Dieses Spiel hat nur Verlierer.
Werder muss durch das 0:0 gegen Leipzig seine Euro-Träume begraben.
RB verstolpert die Champions League. Durch Freiburgs Sieg in Kiel ist die Königsklasse unerreichbar geworden. Aus eigener Kraft ist aktuell noch nicht einmal die Europa League möglich.
Werder macht Leipzig-Drama perfekt!
Ohne Europapokal werden RB in der nächsten Saison rund 60 Mio Einnahmen fehlen. Es wäre das erste Mal seit dem Aufstieg 2016. Die Champions League wurde seitdem nur einmal unter Ralph Hasenhüttl verpasst.
