Russell Wilson is starting to have problems with Jaxson Dart and that could complicate things with the Giants

A new era is beginning with the New York Giants. After six years with Daniel Jones at the helm of the offense, the now-Indianapolis Colts quarterback only managed to take the Giants to the playoffs once. Now, the Big Apple organization has taken a major turn to try and return to NFL competitiveness.

The Giants signed two quarterbacks in free agency – Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. In addition, during the NFL Draft, they were one of the teams that closed the door on Shedeur Sanders and surprised many by trading their 2025 second- and third-round picks, as well as their 2026 third-round pick, to the Houston Texans to draft Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss.

Jaxson Dart knew the Giants were choosing him over Shedeur Sanders

Dart was the second player the Giants selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. With the third overall pick, New York also took Abdul Carter, a spectacular defender from Penn State who will no doubt elevate the team’s defensive quality.

Dan Orlovsky believes the Giants shouldn’t rush Jaxson Dart

Former NFL quarterback and current analyst Dan Orlovsky appeared on The Pat McAfee Show to share his thoughts on the quarterback situation with the New York Giants. He stated that the team should begin the season with Russell Wilson.

“I think you probably should lean on Russ early,” Orlovsky said. “I think Russ can play well enough – we saw it last year – he gives you chances to win games.”

Arch Manning Leads Odds to Go #1 Overall in 2026 NFL Draft

Jaxson Dart himself knows he’ll need to learn and is excited to learn from Russell Wilson, who has had a successful NFL career and won a Super Bowl ring in 2014 with the Seattle Seahawks.

“I’m stepping into an incredible quarterback room with a Super Bowl winner who sees the game from an elite perspective. I can’t wait to learn from him and the other guys like Tommy and Jameis in the room,” Dart said after the 2025 NFL Draft.

Analyst Dan Orlovsky believes Jaxson Dart is very similar to Drake Maye, quarterback of the New England Patriots. Maye started as a backup and ended up as the starter for the Patriots, so a similar path could be in store for Dart with the Giants.

“I don’t think the Giants should rush Jaxson Dart at all,” Orlovsky said. “If you’re the Giants, you’re probably thinking about something like Thanksgiving to put Jaxson Dart on the field.”

What’s certain is that the Giants will have to try out Jaxson Dart at some point during the season. On top of that, New York has the toughest schedule in the NFL, and it will be difficult for Russell Wilson to hold onto the starting job for the entire season.

The mood in the team for sure with him is much better than without him because he brings this positive energy and is always […]

Manchester United’s remarkable 20-game run to the Europa League final – Drama, pintxos and a massive tifo

To think, Manchester United’s place in the Europa League final, via Porto, Istanbul, Plzen, Bucharest, San Sebastian, Lyon and Bilbao to the brink of qualification for the 2025-26 Champions League, all stemmed from Haji Wright being “a toenail” offside.Had Coventry City’s American forward not strayed a fraction beyond Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s right foot at Wembley 13 months ago, United would have lost that FA Cup semi-final 4-3 and been deprived of the chance, against Manchester City five weeks later, to qualify for Europe in the last game of an otherwise painful campaign.AdvertisementInstead, VAR intervened, a dramatic comeback by the Championship side from 3-0 down with an hour played was wiped out in added time of extra time and United then won a penalty shootout 4-2 to put them on the lengthy path to silverware.Their tightrope walk has continued for 15 more […]

What’s next for Jonathan David?

Buying a high-quality striker usually costs a lot of money, so when one becomes available as a free agent, naturally there is plenty of interest. This summer, Jonathan David will be available for no transfer fee after announcing last week he will leave French top-flight side Lille at the end of his contract.Advertisement“I wanted to tell you myself that, after so many years at the club, it’s time for me to say goodbye,” David said in his announcement video. “I’ve spent five wonderful seasons here. I know it hasn’t always been easy, but I hope that with my goals and celebrations, I’ve managed to bring you some joy, especially with the French championship title and the Champions Trophy.”The 25-year-old will not officially be able to sign for his new club until July 1 — unless somebody playing in the upcoming Club […]

My 34-hour ferry trip to the Europa League final: Singing Angels, a pub quiz and dreaming of dry land

The flight from London to Bilbao only takes two hours, but my journey will take two nights.I leave London on Sunday afternoon, take the train to Portsmouth, and then walk through the empty city to the port. I prepare to board the ferry. It will be my home for the next 34 hours. Why am I doing this? In part because I had been joking about it for months on our Spurs podcast, The View from the Lane. I realised with a jolt one night that there could be nothing more humiliating than making a promise on a podcast and not following through with it. There is a bond of trust between podcasters and listeners that I did not want to break. So after Tottenham won 1-0 at Eintracht Frankfurt in the quarter-final second leg, turning everything we knew about them on […]

So your club didn’t land Dean Huijsen this summer. Who should they target instead?

One season is all it took for Dean Huijsen to assure the world of his talent. After just 30 appearances in the Premier League — his first full season as a senior player — the 20-year-old has been whisked away to Real Madrid for almost four times the amount that Bournemouth paid Juventus for his services back in summer 2024.AdvertisementThere had been murmurs of his potential before his spell on the South Coast; Jose Mourinho called him “one of the highest quality prospects in European football at his age” in the lead-up to his debut for Roma. But the ease at which Huijsen settled into top-flight football — comfortable in possession, dominant in duels, and seemingly unfazed by the pressure and the pace of the Premier League — was enough for Europe’s most successful club to make their move. With Huijsen off the […]
