Magdeburg zittert sich zum neunten Sieg in Folge!
Die Jungs von Trainer Bennet Wiegert (43) besiegen den ThSV Eisenach im vorletzten Nachholspiel 33:32 (18:18). Damit bleibt der SCM mittendrin im Meisterkampf und hat weiter nur einen Minuspunkt mehr als die Konkurrenz aus Berlin und Melsungen (jeweils 10).

Schöne Solidaritäts-Geste vor dem Anpfiff: Die Eisenach-Spieler laufen mit einem Banner mit der Aufschrift „Wir vergessen euch nicht, ihr bleibt in Erinnerung. Eisenach für Magdeburg.“ ein. Damit erinnern sie an den schrecklichen Anschlag auf den Magdeburger Weihnachtsmarkt am 20. Dezember, an dem sechs Menschen getötet und fast 300 verletzt wurden. Das Spiel gegen die Eisenacher am 16. Spieltag wurde daher auf den 22. Mai verschoben.
Der SCM startet mit einem 2:0-Lauf in die Partie. Doch Eisenach – überraschend mit Ex-Magdeburg-Star Silvio Heinevetter (40, 2005-2009) im Tor – präsentiert sich in Topform, gleicht nach sieben Minuten erstmals aus (4:4). Und selbst als Magdeburg mit drei Toren führt (9:6/13.) gelingt ihnen erneut der Ausgleich (9:9).
Wiegert ist alles andere als begeistert, schimpft in der 18. Minute beim Stand von 10:10: „Das ist alles durchs Zentrum. Das haben wir nicht besprochen. Wir wollen nicht durchs Zentrum. Wir rennen hinter allem hinterher. Das ist zu sehr jagen. Bitte habt Vertrauen, Zweikämpfe zu gewinnen. Das Hauptproblem ist unsere Abwehr gerade.“
[–>Tatsächlich bekommen die SCM-Jungs das Zentrum nach der Auszeit besser geschlossen, trotzdem ist das Spiel ausgeglichen. In der 29. Minute sorgt DHB-Star Marko Grgic eiskalt für die erste Eisenach-Führung (18:17). In die Pause geht es mit einem 18:18.
Magdeburg-Star Magnus Saugstrup (28) lobt den Gegner in der Halbzeit am Dyn-Mikrofon: „Unsere Abwehr muss klar besser werden. Eisenach hat das super gemacht. Heute hat alles geklappt für sie. Das ist ganz schwierig dann.“
Doch die Antwort der Magdeburger kann sich sehen lassen. Sie starten mit einem 3:0-Lauf (21:18/38.). Den Eisenachern gelingt in den ersten 7 Minuten und 40 Sekunden der zweiten Hälfte kein Treffer mehr. Dafür glänzt Heinevetter direkt mit drei Monster-Paraden.

Zehn Minuten vor Schluss führt der SCM mit vier Toren (29:25). Zwar kommt Eisenach noch mal ran dank Grgic (30:30/55.), doch die Magdeburger lassen sich die zwei Punkte nicht mehr nehmen und siegen denkbar knapp 33:32. Bester Werfer: Grgic mit 15 Toren.
Auf Magdeburg wartet nun am Sonntag (16.30 Uhr/Dyn) das dritte Spiel in dieser Woche – auswärts in Potsdam.
