Baseball pulled Nic Enright out of the darkness. Now, finally, he’s a big-league pitcher

DETROIT — The day Nic Enright underwent a biopsy to officially confirm his diagnosis of Hodgkin lymphoma in December 2022, his wife raced home from her job as a physical education teacher.Erin approached the train tracks that sit five minutes from their home in Rocky Mount, Va. As she sat and watched the train cars chug along, she bawled.AdvertisementTwenty-nine months ago, a weekend like this seemed impossible. On Friday night in Columbus, Enright told Erin and his parents to meet him at an atypical ballpark rendezvous point after the game. Romain Esse ‘knows why’ he was substituted vs. Liverpool, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner claims

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner says Romain Esse knows the reason he was substituted in the final day draw with Liverpool just 20 minutes after being brought on from the bench.Esse, a £12million signing from Millwall in January, was introduced after 79 minutes, replacing Will Hughes only to be taken off in the third minute of stoppage time despite showing no apparent sign of injury, with Glasner appearing not to look at the forward as he walked over to his place on the bench.Advertisement“He knows why, that’s enough,” Glasner said when asked why he substituted the 20-year-old, before he then expressed his dissatisfaction with certain individual performances.Glasner also criticised some of his players for not being sufficiently focused or determined, with strong words in his press conference after the 1-1 draw.“I’m not really pleased with our performance. Monaco’s F1 racing ‘fix’ missed the mark — and drivers say the real issues got louder

MONACO — As the Formula One drivers filtered through the media mixed zone after the Monaco Grand Prix, it became clear that they felt similar to the fans and media: the new pit stop rules did not help the racing spectacle here. Instead, they shined a light on a different issue. For the first time, drivers were required to make a minimum of two pit stops during Sunday’s race, which McLaren driver Lando Norris eventually won. The decision came after even more criticism for the Monaco spectacle arose around the 2024 event, a race where an emotional Charles Leclerc won his home race, but was really a procession. The top 10 remained unchanged after an early red flag.AdvertisementAnd while this year’s pit stop changes did create some more interesting moments, as Williams and Racing Bulls executed strong teamwork to give their […]
